  1. After thinking long and hard(Yes...my head hurts!),and extensive research on other forums,I've come to the conclusion that the best way to go is to take the airport link to Makkasan, and get a taxi from there to Asoke(Where the condo.where I'm staying is). On the taxi side you save the 50baht airport surcharge and don't have to pay the hi-way tolls. From Makkasan to Sukhumvit ,it's only a 5 minute taxi ride. Taking your luggage to the airport link is the same distance(If not closer)as going to the taxi stand. No problems with airport taxi drivers, either! Food for thought
  2. Tell your travel agent "flight only, please" Check the price direct http://www.sawasdee-...ial-offers.html And check on-line with someone like Agoda http://www.agoda.com
  3. The Hilton Disco gets going after midnight, when all the girls have finished at the bars and come looking for a late night hook up. Bintabaht is the main bargirl strip, but there are several bars on Poolsuk. You'll probably find Hua Hin is a bit cheaper too.A cheaper bar fine and the girls will usually go 1,000baht long time(+tip, nah!) Great seafood at the nightmarket. Enjoy!
  4. A lot to sink your teeth into here http://www.bangkok-addicts.com/forum/topic/839-updates-on-gf-hotels-rates-and-reviews/
  5. I'll definitely use this next time for Hua Hin. http://www.airporthuahinbus.com/ I've always gone the taxi route, and the cheapest I've ever got was 1,600baht.And lately it's been in the 1,800~2,000baht range. Score!

  7. I'd advise getting two vouchers for 900 baht(400baht each+100baht postage) those plus your taxi each way from the taxi stand/your hotel, will be the same price as only a one trip with VIP meet and limo one way. smooth in ,smooth out.
  8. I've used a couple of the Fasttrack companies before, and have often thought that all I need is the Fasttrack coupon/voucher.I know where immigration is,I know where the baggage carousel is,I know where the taxi stand is..... So,I went online and did a bit of a search and found a guy who is selling them online. 400baht for one coupon, plus 100baht for registered postage with tracking number(100baht for any quantity).Pay by PayPal or Credit card.Mine came through after 5 days. http://fasttrackcoup...category-0.html There's even a map on the back showing where the fasttrack lane is. The great thing about this is that after getting off the plane and arriving at immigration, you can have a peak at the immigration lines. If they're busy you can go to the fasttrack lane and use your coupon,or if the lines at normal immigration are short, you can just go through and save your coupon for the next time(win win situation). Here's a photo of the one I received:
  9. This is one of my favorites for a quiet stay http://www.housebythepond.com/ A really "Olde world BKK" feeling. No brekkie though Stayed here 8 or 9 times
  10. There's this one on soi 24.They proudly boast.."If it swims,we have it" http://www.seafood.co.th/contactus.php
  11. I think with 2 suitcases and hand luggage, you'll be better taking a taxi direct to your hotel front door. Remember, you'll still have to hump your gear to your place, after you get off at Chit Lom BTS. Start your vacation with less stress, too
  12. The sky bar at Lebua hotel http://www.lebua.com/en/the-dome-dining/sky-bar-bangkok/ Not cheap, though!!!
  13. It's closing in 2014,so better go this year: http://www.coconutsbangkok.com/sports/end-of-an-era-lumpini-stadium-closing-in-2014/ I can't believe the price of tickets on the official website http://www.muaythailumpini.com/FAQ.html This gives better info. http://www.muaythaionline.org/features/thaistadiums.html When I went I paid 400 baht at the ticket window.Touts were offering 2000 baht tickets for ringside, but I just walked past them up to the ticket booth and paid for a 400 baht ticket.
  14. Leave it at home, buy a cheapie. I always leave my Omega at home, and just use my cell phone to check the time. Don't tempt them with the bling!!!
  15. The Nana hotel parking lot is THE freelancer "Central".Good prices to be had.!
  16. It seems that Som(ex Star of Light legend) has opened a Blow job bar right next to Suda http://www.somhaven.com/ How convenient!!! :)
  17. I like it.A good feed before a drinking/mongering is essential! Suda serves food that "sticks to your ribs" Agree about the service.Hit and miss sums it up.Still a great place to eat and chill.
  18. Grand President for me.Great location and great rooms, especially the suites. The only other one I'd recommend is Royal President(sister hotel to the Grand president).A bit nearer Cowboy.
  19. ChinaTown.Take the MRT from Asoke to Hualamphong(spelling?),and walk down Yaworat Road.Enjoy the sights sounds and smells. Go once during the day,and once at night.Completely different.
  20. I got the Kamagra gels, tooThey were great. I got them from a pharmacy near soi 4. Turn left going out of soi 4.Go past the petrol station 30 yards, and you'll see 2 pharmacies on the left. The second one(the larger one) is where I got the gels. 400baht for five(assorted flavours!!).Can't go wrong.
  21. I stayed ay the Grand President last year in one of their suites and I can recommend it. Big and spacious.Great location. Some great bars/carts on that street, with freelancers around! But if you're staying there,you7d be better off booking a suite or deluxe room,as the regular rooms will have the families/early morning door slammers, and not much peace and quiet. I'm booked there for October.
  22. Another good mall food place is the dining room at the Emporium(not the food court) where you buy tickets to pay with.If you buy too many tickets you can return them for a refund on the way out.Everything from som-tam to peking duck, and all excellent.
  23. I used to love the Tip-Top restaurant on Suk.,just up from the Emporium. But now they've move to new location at suk.33(or is it 31),not as good as before, atmosphere -wise.Food still good.
  24. I was disappointed about the wired wi-fi,as I only had an i-pad(worked in the lobby, though). But nice room. Very close to Annies soapy
