  1. Agreed. As a connecting flight,it's inconvenient. From Swampy the taxi makes sense, especially if there are 2 or more people. If you're solo, the cheapest and best way is the bus: http://www.airporthuahinbus.com
  2. Now, even the flight is cheaper than the taxi to Hua Hin. Nok Air From Don Muang though. http://www.nokair.com/contents/promotion/new_route_HHQ_0913/en-US/index.html
  3. The airport bus is handy, and only 305THbaht per person. http://www.airporthuahinbus.com I've always taken a taxi, but the difference I'd save taking the bus would pay for a night out!
  4. Everyone will have a taxi service they like, but I use this one last time
  5. Stayed there three years ago. Very basic,no breakfast. But I got in late from the airport and was away early back to the airport for a flight to vietnam,so it was suffice for my purposes. Took one of the girls from the massage place in the hotel, and she went for 1,000baht short time FS.Doubt you'd get that price nowadays.
  6. If you take a wander down soi 13(not many of us do) you'll find 3 or 4 Indian restaurants. Quieter and better than the ones nearer Nana. I found them by chance, due to the fact I rented a condo there. If you're on soi 11 there's a handy short-cut.Just go through the Ambassador Hotel (underground)car park and it will take you right onto soi 13 and the restaurants
  7. Try this place. It does weekly http://www.housebythepond.com/long-term-stay/

Probably best to look through this forum. Not sure if you'll get a straight answer. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/forum/1-thai-visas-residency-and-work-permits/ Hope it helps
  12. Yep,it put me of going. For the pools at Benjasiri and Lumphini Parks, you have to get a medical certificate. As stated on this web-site http://www.swimmersguide.com/ViewFacility.aspx?fid=12186 Visitors (adult) Single-swim admission is not available to the traveling general public. Membership Info THB 15, with an annual member card. The membership card costs THB 40, and requires two passport photos, a medical certificate, and a passport copy. Annual membership prices here are lower than "drop-in" prices at some of the pricier hotels.
  13. Very true about Agoda.I have used them many times, but the first price you get does not include, tax, service charge, etc. Used to be that the booking sites were cheaper than booking direct with the hotel. But I guess the hotels have wised up and have started doing promotions(early bird, room only, etc) If you've already got your flight booked ,it's best to check the prices of the sites and the hotel website on a daily basis. You'll get the best price, especially well in advance. For example,I had booked my flight for August, and I was checking prices for the Grand President for a deluxe suite. On Agoda it was 2700baht(plus those hidden taxes/charges),and at first it was 2500baht direct with the hotel website. But after waiting and checking daily, a "Time Deal" for the same Deluxe suite, room only(try getting up for breakfast when you've got last night's spinner next to you) for 1600baht per night including taxes etc. Good things come to he who waits ;)
  14. The one at Benjasiri is cheap, but you've got to get a medical certificate from the Hospital.Same at Lumphini. But once you've got it......
  15. Wheels up in 7 hours.....knob-up tonight!

  16. Give Quantas a call, and confirm. You can't beat hearing it "from the horses mouth" Better still ..e-mail them. Then print out the reply as proof to show the cabin attendant in-flight.
  17. This is the one I bought on-line and used from the link I posted on your topic you posted I had no problems, and everyone in line at immigration had the same coupon :
  18. Go for the suite IMHO. Doesn't matter how new the room is,it's still just a small room The suites are great at the GP.Lot's of room to stretch out,and more shagging venues, rather than just a bed. It is 3-some friendly(as long as they have ID,of course) Whether you stay in a room or a suite, you're not far from the pool or gym.
  19. You chose well. I'm a big fan of the Grand President, and is my hotel of choice. Love the Suites.
  20. Pretty general , but it'll get you started: http://www.farangfriendly.com/sukhumvit-bangkok/gyms-fitness-centers http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/445048-gyms-near-asoke-nana-ploenchit/ http://bangkokfitness.com/2011/06/22/guide-to-bangkok-parks-for-sport-and-fitness/

  22. Nice review. As well as trip reports we should all do hotel reviews as well. The room is very important during our stays! *1 from me
  23. Have to say I prefer Agoda. You can pay by PayPal too.Which means your credit card is secure, less chance of being phished. Agoda is without doubt 9 times out of ten cheaper than booking with the hotel direct, but it's worth checking with the hotel website as they'll sometimes have a special promotion/early bird special which will be even cheaper than Agoda.
  24. Mr Singh Abeer........Priceless  Made me laugh
