  1. I was "in the same boat as you".I always stayed at the Royal President(Junior suite). Then I decided to give the Grand President a try and booked a deluxe suite.Apart from one trip (when I stayed at a condo on Soi 13),I've stayed at Grand President since. No noise problems at all. I would recommend both hotels to anyone, but really enjoy staying on Soi 11. On another point ,the President Palace has been getting some good reviews lately and might give that a try next
  2. Not sure.Only used her for the airport hotel service. Call her or SMS her for a price
  3. I use this lady.I don't know how much it will be to Patts as I only use her for Airport to BKK hotel and vice versa.Give her a call for prices
  4. From the website it looks like it costs 1,000baht just for the meet and greet fast track service. The transfer to your hotel will be another 900baht on top of that.
  5. Apologies for quoting myself,but.....you've just gone and done it again!!! :)
  6. Motorcyle taxi opposite the hotel, will cost you only 20 baht to BTS/Cowboy etc
  7. Should give the hotel a bill for 500baht for the cockroach guest fee!!!! Sent you a PM
  8. Walk across to Soi 11 to the Villa Supermarket which is on the right side of the road. They have some nice bakery breads, etc. And while you're there you can stock up on anything else you need,at a cheaper price than a 7/11
  9. A Thai friend(over here in Japan) flew back to BKK and had a boob job done at Yanhee. It turned out well(for me too...I got the before and after experience). The fact that a Thai had faith in that hospital, suggests that they know what they're doing. Plus it might help you convince her to get the boob-job!!!!!!!! On the nose job front IHNFI (I have no fucking idea!)
  10. Some of the best street food I've ever had is on Suk. next to Benjasiri Park.(just up from the Emporium) Never got the trotts
  11. Why not stay at Aloft on Oct 14- 18 and then stay at dream hotel on your return on 26th -31st. It's nice to try different hotels.Helps with choices in the future
  12. It only takes about 15-20 minutes from the airport to the centre of town(Night Bazaar area, etc.) It's a really nice drive too, whether it's daytime or night. There are a couple of taxi booths right in front of you when you come out of arrivals. The price was around 120 baht last year when I went.
  13. I think your doing the right thing in getting a visa from the embassy before your departure.Simply because it will lessen the time you have to spend at the airport. The only other thing I would suggest is a meet and greet service which will whisk you through fast track immigration, help you with your baggage, and take you to either the taxi stand ,or if you pay a little more, to a limousine to your hotel.
  14. Sorry...they changed the name to Studio 18.Used to be a "Go to" hotel for mongerers/old hands who got tired of the Nana Hotel. studio 18 hotel bangkok Try these as well. http://www.hoteltravel.com/thailand/bangkok/town_lodge_hotel_bangkok.htm#utm_source=affiliate-aco&utm_medium=commission-aco&utm_term=&utm_content=N-A&utm_campaign=HotelsCombined http://www.agoda.com/studio-sukhumvit-18-by-icheck-inn/hotel/bangkok-th.html?asq=InGAwU3VA8dsCE8HhnennlQo1c4%2fG4%2bLsUvPHZD4lIdTnut6pF0pBWukVneZ49poqBSvmg5GxcKhjC1IF%2b7jKFIpJYoKBRo8BiYWFuc66pVBSNPHVEZ0Nt2dZr%2fLTOy94fasqRuNEAbbm78U047wrqaMMdQDdxfK%2fx1AuMqJ3N6RL3mdBRK%2feFXk2flD4zFZbtVMZPvf67HnHsPd46GchuvjOZ0J4OfnTXiHoKj3vJVn78DohimKRgMQ87b1KS9JIQhN%2fLPWhaiCJTtG5GZbrg3xDzOXUnlbZuLUBRLPV31SgFxJre%2f%2bItsrBUXLLfZhitk0ld3YeAaLcmyZ6ERS%2fQDYZVMrc%2buTM8hjeokL4aFdKguAozoA%2fUaDHymEmaeNG%2f%2b%2bKEuEupeLSR1oyQtd3Sc0bwf6%2bl31hqx966s%2foXuQ8YWlcqRXVHF3zTe6b6ILBIyfc56HishElBQollEg%2bhh4M9yCUXUuHvdtoA%2fO%2bzByGgBaDLqwDtjYqhJBjEBV
  15. President Solitaire on Soi 11 has a jacuzzi in the bathroom Nana Hotel has jacuzzi suites. Town lodge too
  16. They've got a promo at the moment(Don't they all!!) http://www.compasshospitality.com/social_media/newsletter/thecontinent/2014/EMD_IncredibleFourPackages/
  17. It's like going back in time to Olde world BKK.Really interesting place, completely different to the normal hotels on Suk. Getting around is no prob as the Motor cycle taxi stand is just across the road ,and it only costs 20baht to the BTS/MRT/or Emporium. If you need a taxi the guardman will flag one down for you(or you can flag one down yourself!). Had a great stay every time I stayed there. One thing though,no brekkie included. So you'll be eating out 3 times a day.
  18. Grand president and Royal President have washers/dryers in their junior suites and upwards. Somerset Lake Point also has them http://www.somerset.com/en/thailand/bangkok/somerset_lake_point/location.html
  19. Also try Flipkey http://www.flipkey.com/bangkok-vacation-rentals/g293916/?house=true&apt-condo=true&villa=true&chalet=true&check-in=10/05/2014&check-out=10/30/2014 And Air BnB https://www.airbnb.com/s/bangkok?checkin=10%2F02%2F2014&checkout=10%2F28%2F2014&room_types%5B%5D=Entire+home%2Fapt You could book a normal hotel for your first 2 or 3 nights, and go view a few of the condos before you decide.
  20. Must be. It's on several guest friendly hotel websites, like this one http://guestfriendlyhotelsinthailand.blogspot.jp/2012/06/top-10-budget-sukhumvit-hotels-under.html
  21. On the hotel/serviced apartment front,I've done a bit of research too.The past 20-odd years I've been going to LOS 2 or 3 times a year for 7-10days at a time.Recently I just thought I may as well go once a year for a month. It's worth doing a bit of research,as you're going to be in the place for a full month,so it's best to find somewhere you're going to be comfortable. Here are some websites I browsed http://www.servicedapartmentsbkk.com/serviced-apartments-near-to-Nana-BTS-station.php Craigslist is surprisingly good in this case.If you see a place you like, just mail the owner with any questions you have. http://bangkok.craigslist.co.th/search/vac?query=sukhumvit&sale_date=- http://bangkok.craigslist.co.th/search/sub?query=sukhumvit&sale_date=-
  22. Looked it up on a several G/F websites, and they all said it's a guest friendly hotel. For peace of mind,e-mail directly to Ballys Suites, and print out the reply for proof.
