What do you do during your first 6 hours in Bangkok?
ianjamesmax replied to Adore's topic in General discussion about Bangkok
Probably like everyone, after being on a plane,a shower/shave,etc... I always try to get my bodyclock on the same timewave as BKK.Eat a dinner(or lunch if I arrive that early) at normal Thai time in country.I try stay up as late as possible,no matter how jetlagged I am.And also stay in bed late as long as possible, and resist the temptation to get up early AM. It's good to hit the ground running, and get a blowjob or shag as soon as possible,to stop you climbing up the walls! -
Another(cheaper)Fast-track option
ianjamesmax replied to ianjamesmax's topic in Transportation & Travel
I can't recommend the coupons enough. Get 2,the postage is the same for one or two.One for your way inland one for your flight out(No dramas rushing, etc). You know where the taxi stand is, you know where the baggage pick up is......no need for a meet and greet After being on an international flight, the last thing you want to do is stand in-line. -
Who did you book with?400baht including tolls for a reserved/booked taxi is a great deal.

This video helped with the route when I went to DMK last August. You can see the True Move and AIS booths on the left at the end of the video. On the opposite side there are a couple of exchange booths where you can change your currency into baht.(Better rates in the booths downtown BKK,so just change enough to see you through the 1st day!)

Grand President versus Royal President
ianjamesmax replied to br28016's topic in Hotels & Accommodations in Bangkok
I've always fancied staying at their other sister hotel,President Solitaire, which is a bit further down Soi 11(they have a TukTuk service). All rooms are suites, and the more expensive ones have a jacuzzi . They've got a "Pay 2 nights stay for 3 nights" deal on at the moment: -
hotel near airport ( none mongering trip )
ianjamesmax replied to Gobby's topic in Hotels & Accommodations in Bangkok
The Novotel is the best at the airport, but a bit above the budget you posted. http://www.agoda.com/novotel-bangkok-suvarnabhumi-airport/hotel/bangkok-th.html?checkin=2015-11-17&los=2&adults=2&childs=0&rooms=1 After that ,the hotels tend to be in the budget range, and not what you might be hoping for you're family to stay in. But there is one which seems nice and nearer your price. http://www.agoda.com/vismaya-hotel-suvarnabhumi/hotel/bangkok-th.html?checkin=2015-11-17&los=2&adults=2&childs=0&rooms=1 Can't vouch for any of the airport hotels, even when I've only had time for an overnighter I've taxied in to Suk. and mongered as much as poss.,then taxied back the next morning for the flight. But I understand your situation with the family.
