Another(cheaper)Fast-track option
ianjamesmax replied to ianjamesmax's topic in Transportation & Travel
Yeah, just write in your name and flight number. It's good to have ,especially if your dashing to get to the "Action".Or even for the return journey so your not lining up for ages at immigration for your flight home :( -

Qatar Airways will send your luggage all the way to Phuket AND will issue you with a boarding pass for the BKK-Phuket flight. http://www.bangkokair.com/eng/pages/view/check-in-through You just need to walk to the domestic transfer immigration counter(Follow the signs) go through a customs check, then go to the Bangkok Airways lounge(They have one for economy passengers) soft drinks, snacks, and free wi-fi,and wait for your flight. With a 3 hour wait between flights, you've got stacks of time. -

Kop :) If you are leaving from Suvarnabhumi you won't need it.(Unless your flights from Don Muaeng). You DON'T have to pick up your baggage go through the main immigration ,go up to departure level and check-in for your Phuket flight You will just do an international to domestic transfer.Depending on your airline, you should be able to get all your boarding passes(including the one to Phuket) when you check in at the beginning of your journey. If the airline you're flying with can't give you your BKK-Phuket boarding pass, they will be able to to have your baggage ticketed/sent all the way through to Phuket. All you have to then is to,after disembarking the plane at BKK, go straight along the arrivals concourse to the International to domestic transfer area, and get a boarding pass from one of the transfer desks there. http://suvarnabhumiairport.com/en/224-from-international-to-domestic No need to go through the main immigration area. All depends on which airline you're flying with,as to whether or nor not you can get all your boarding passes,or if you just have to pick up one for your BKK-HKT at the transfer desk. How much time do you have between the flights, and which airlines are you flying with? -

Star Inn soi 7/1 any reviews?
ianjamesmax replied to 0069's topic in Hotels & Accommodations in Bangkok
I've never stayed at the Star Inn,but it seems a lot like The World Inn,where I stayed one night before flying out to Vietnam the next day.It was alright just for one night of mongering, but I'd give The World Inn a miss From the reviews I've seen, Maxims does look the better option of the three in that area -

I was impressed with the lobby at the Ambassador and disappointed with the rooms. I was with a Thai gf at the time ,so I can't comment about it being guest friendly. I guess you're going in April,so if I were you I'd cancel the Ambassador booking,if you can without any loss of money, and re-book somewhere else on soi 11.There's stacks to choose from and much better quality.Plus less worry knowing you're going into a guest friendly hotel. Just my 2 satang p.s. Whatever happens, please let us know how you got on

Hotels to stay AWAY from?
ianjamesmax replied to Massage Slave's topic in Hotels & Accommodations in Bangkok
I had problems at the Windsor Suites too. Joiner fee plus hassle from the security. Never stay there again, which is a shame as the suite rooms and location was really nice.
