That might be you ...thats why I used the word "could"
I really don't think they will go after the bars and gogos in full. Beer bars are just girls in a bar drinking which you can join in with right? They are not hurting anyone.
Street walkers on the other hand are different and stick out like a sore thumb. I reckon by prostitution he is only referring to street walkers. Imagine how many characters they would upset if they shut down all the beer bars and gogos.

I have a feeling the LOS is in the process of rebranding its self as a family holiday venue not a naughty boys location and the new Government is doing its best to support this. Hotels have discovered they can make more from selling rooms to families that to single blokes on but you are not going to get families coming if you have girls selling their services on the streets. Look at the new PM background he is very conservative and a traditionalist.
Do you think they will get rid of the whole scene or just clear the streets? I would still come anyway even if they did clear the whole scene but it would make it a bit harder to get girls haha

This could be the pilot for the crackdown.
Jumping to conclusions perhaps. The beach umbrella and deck chair tidy up in Phuket was a good thing. And from the sounds of it they want to tackle street hookers. I didn't read anything about them wanting to shut down beer bars or gogos. Besides they are just bars to go have a drink. Anything which goes on is between the guy and girl right? 555

Thanks looking at it now. Any suggestions on which restaurant to eat at? I'm leaning towards the Bangkok balcony grill and buffet. :-)

Think I better check it out then. Do you have to book in advance? On their website yes?

Never been there. Is baiyoke worth a visit? Better to go there for dinner instead of just a daytime visit?

I've only been to ko dang talay and baan khanitha, both of which I enjoyed and would recommend.

Ok thanks. I don't understand why that Soi Thanya is japs only. Surely they would make more money if they let anyone go there? The japs use Cowboy and nana so farangs should be allowed to use the thanya joints.
What can I expect if I just walk down the street?

Excellent pics. Are you allowed to take pics in some of the gogos there or was that just a a special arrangement for you?

Good stuff thanks

I think admiral premier has a rooftop pool as well.

Gets the Mods to convince the forum admin to buy a taps talk API. Uploading pics from there becomes easy. I did the whole of my last trip report from my phone using tapatalk.

Love scene is really a good hint. Was there with my lady, but she did only see it from the outside, so she was completely stunned that we had to enter through the kitchen (I was really not knowing what was going on when we entered). But its really nice inside and the thai-food is pretty good and cheap.
A great restaurant for anyone that wants to impress a guest, when you enter through the kitchen and find this cozy room behind it http://www.bangkok-addicts.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/smile.gif
another shout for love scene. I actually stumbled on here randomly my first time in Bangkok. Enjoyed it so much I at here at lest twice more that trip and after taking a girl from
Cowboy she took me there too.

May as well get this started...
Ok so January is still a fair few months away but thought id see who is about.
I will be doing a few weeks in Phuket first, do some island hopping as well as sampling the delights of Bangla road.
I get to Bangkok on the 24th though and am staying for 8 days. Staying at Phachara suites.
Anyone else about?

Did you post this same thread over on Thai visa?
Tbh I would hardly call 6 quid being scammed, for a westerner. Ok I can see the principle but had she said maybe 2-3k I would sympathise more.
I got short changed at 7/11 once by 500bhat. I only realised after but couldn't be arsed to kick up a fuss for a small amount of money.

I'll message lamok tonight maybe he can tell us what the deal is.

Anyone ever taken a taxi from Bangkok to either Suphanburi or Ang Thong? They are both around 90mins outside Bangkok and have some great temples. I'm thinking it would be easier to maybe just hire a taxi for the day as my driver.
-
BA doesn't have it and to be honest I'm not really sure why. I'll try to find out, if we can get it added.
I'm guessing it's not connected to the API. Hopefully Brian can get it sorted.

How long would you need to be able to go for? Surely a few hours is enough? When I do need to take it (which is usually when I'm drink) I take maybe a half of even a quarter of 1. A whole one should last you at least 3-4 hours.

I think with the new fingerprint scanners coming into place I will have to take up a fast track option.

Thanks that room looks really nice although Agoda don't seem to list it. That's a shame.

If you had to choose between one of the Grand President suite rooms or President Palace which would go for? Are there any decent hotels on soi 11 with a jacuzzi?
