I'm landing on the 12th and in bkk for a couple of days before I head up north. Back again mid Jan. ill probably just post here before I fly so can see who's about.

So I wanted to put together a bucket list of must see things in Bangkok. I've done Grand Palace and floating market before so not really interested in doing them again. Can anyone suggest some others?

Aside from nighttime activities I do actually enjoy seeing the cultural side on offer so any suggestions are most welcome.

Anyone ever stayed in Omni towers serviced apartments? I'm booked in for Boss Suites for when I arrive but have a week before I leave too so want to try a serviced apartment then. I stayed at Amari residence last time and it was fantastic but a bit of a walk to Nana. Ideally id like something closer located to the station and same sort of price range as Amari. Also is Omni towers GF?

Probably but I'm sure they will not want a repeat of last time hence the heavy presence. Did you just see a alot of police or military too?

Where do you get metered taxis from the at airport? I tried once (usually get airport link but this was 5am) and they said 400.

I arrive in Bangkok on the 12th and will be staying for 4 days before moving into Chiang Mai, Phuket, Koh Samui and finally back to Bangkok for a week or so.

Of course I don't mind riding solo but if there are any BMs about who fancy going on a crawl let me know.

I'll be there from 12th December till 17th Jan. Will probably spend the first week or so in Bangkok and then move onto chiang mai and some of the trang islands. Let me know if you fancy meeting up.

As you walk along the main strip towards the beach (Ao nang) there is small Soi opposite McDonalds. There are maybe 10 or so bars there that all looked fairly lively when I was there last. There is also a club just around the corner from there - Amy 69 I think. I was with a girl anyway but we went out drinking there a few times and there were a fair few nice lookers there.

Here is a map but you really can't miss it just look for those golden arches.
