  1. I was "in the same boat as you".I always stayed at the Royal President(Junior suite). Then I decided to give the Grand President a try and booked a deluxe suite.Apart from one trip (when I stayed at a condo on Soi 13),I've stayed at Grand President since. No noise problems at all.

I would recommend both hotels to anyone, but really enjoy staying on Soi 11.

On another point ,the President Palace has been getting some good reviews lately and might give that a try next

    Hi,

What is the going rate from Suk to Patts have looked on forum, no recent threads and the web only seems to throw up Airport to Patts, also anyone know of a female cab driver based in Bkk I ask this as I would like a more leisurely ride down rather than the foot to the floor drive you get from the men.

    Thanks in Advance.

I use this lady.I don't know how much it will be to Patts as I only use her for Airport to BKK hotel and vice versa.Give her a call for prices

  3. Landing in Don Mueang around 1900, has anyone landed around this time, know how busy it normally is?

Wondering if its worthwhile booking the fast track with transfer to my hotel for 1000 baht.

I was looking at using this company www.limousine.in.th

From the website it looks like it costs 1,000baht just for the meet and greet fast track service. The transfer to your hotel will be another 900baht on top of that.

  4. A Thai friend(over here in Japan) flew back to BKK and had a boob job done at Yanhee.
It turned out well(for me too...I got the before and after experience).

The fact that a Thai had faith in that hospital, suggests that they know what they're doing. Plus it might help you convince her to get the boob-job!!!!!!!!

On the nose job front IHNFI (I have no fucking idea!)

  5. It only takes about 15-20 minutes from the airport to the centre of town(Night Bazaar area, etc.)

It's a really nice drive too, whether it's daytime or night.

There are a couple of taxi booths right in front of you when you come out of arrivals. The price was around 120 baht last year when I went.

  6. Oh thank you for reminding me of the stellar reputation Indians have in this welcoming country :). I am going to get a visa in advance anyway but I would have thought that it is very rare for Thai immigration officers to refuse visa on arrival for Indians.

I think your doing the right thing in getting a visa from the embassy before your departure.Simply because it will lessen the time you have to spend at the airport.

The only other thing I would suggest is a meet and greet service which will whisk you through fast track immigration, help you with your baggage, and take you to either the taxi stand ,or if you pay a little more, to a limousine to your hotel.

  7. It's like going back in time to Olde world BKK.Really interesting place, completely different to the normal hotels on Suk.

Getting around is no prob as the Motor cycle taxi stand is just across the road ,and it only costs 20baht to the BTS/MRT/or Emporium. If you need a taxi the guardman will flag one down for you(or you can flag one down yourself!).

Had a great stay every time I stayed there.

One thing though,no brekkie included. So you'll be eating out 3 times a day.

  8. On the hotel/serviced apartment front,I've done a bit of research too.The past 20-odd years I've been going to LOS 2 or 3 times a year for 7-10days at a time.Recently I just thought I may as well go once a year for a month. It's worth doing a bit of research,as you're going to be in the place for a full month,so it's best to find somewhere you're going to be comfortable.

Here are some websites I browsed

Craigslist is surprisingly good in this case.If you see a place you like, just mail the owner with any questions you have.
