  1. They also have a hotel on Sukhumvit 15 that's in a better location just next to the Asoke BST, they have some deals now in the low season as well. S15 Sukhumvit Plahgat
  2. Hi, guys! Time again for a new video! This is the premiere for my latest video from this year's trip to Patong Beach, Phuket. Video is in Full HD 1080p so best to view it in full screen. The film is longer than usual at 15 min, and contains both day and night time shots. Sorry about the somewhat shaky quality, and music was choosen in a rush, so might not be the best for this video, anyway... I hope you'll enjoy it! Plahgat ps for the LB lovers there will be a "Soi Katoey 2011" video later on! Here's the link to my video: Patong 2011 - Plahgat's Thailand ps because of music copyright issues this video might not be viewable in Germany!?
  3. Thank God I left Patong on 10 of April and escaped to Singapore!:D Plahgat
  4. Just want to add I've changed my plans and will not be in BKK for Songkran! I'll arrive later on and have cancelled my booking with Marco Hotel as well, and will continue to stay in the cheaper cockroach infested smoke-smelling places and save my money for the girls instead! ;) Plahgat
  5. I just went in to have a look a month or so ago. It's situated at the end of Soi 7 to the left and it's an old hotel, although they had a recent renovation of the rooms with new paintings and furniture, Downstairs they have a restaurant and the place has a lift as well, although it doesn't reach top floor. I just had a look at two of their cheapest room at 750 baht, but they were very minimal in size, one had no windows! Looked clean and new alright, but hardly any space to move, the new LCD TV took up all the space of the desktable as well blocking the mirror. Their normal sized rooms starts at 990 baht although I never looked into one, I think they are probably bigger in size, bathrooms looked good with new fixings in the rooms I looked at. It's probably worth the value though at 990 baht. I think you can just go there and have a look first, lots of empty cheap hotelrooms in that area that are easy to find on your own. Plahgat
  6. Hi! Usually I stay at cheap 700 baht cockroach infested smoke-smelling places whilst in BKK, but thought I'd upgrade on my next visit! I'll arrive in Bangkok in the middle of Songkran on April 14 and will stay until April 20, when I'll go back to Pattaya. Since I'll have 6 nights and because I'll probably be hiding out in my room from the splash-war outside on my first days, I thought I'd for once take the splurge and pay more for a comfy and nicer hotelroom! I've been looking through the hotelbooking websites the last few days, and decided I wanted to stay near to Nana, and finally my decision fell on the Marco Hotel (aka Marco Polo) in Soi 2: Marco Looks pretty new and clean on the pictures and had got mostly good reviews, price was also within my reach at 1300 baht a night including taxes. Although in a quiet soi off Sukhumvit Rd, it's supposed to be only 5 minutes walking from the Sukhumvit Rd,and you can use the swimming pool at the Marriott Hotel in the same area. Booked on http://www.booking.com Choosed a "Deluxe Room- Studio B" Room Facilities: Air Conditioning, Work Desk, Shower, Hairdryer, Bathrobe, Toilet, Bath or Shower, TV, Telephone, Radio, DVD Player, Cable TV, Tea/Coffee Maker, Minibar, Kitchenette, Refrigerator, Microwave, Balcony, Patio, View (sea, garden, landmark, etc.) Room Size: 27 square metresBed Size (s): 1 Extra large double Anyone stayed here and can give the cons and pros? ps if you have pictures of the rooms I'd appreciate them because there are not so many on their website! Thanks! Plahgat
  7. I got the same experience, all my Agfa slides went dark and blue so I throwed all my slides away last year! Luckily I had them all scanned to my computer a few years ago, so I managed to save most before they were beyond repair, and get some new colours back on them using Photoshop! :P Plahgat
  8. Hi! Dark, cold and wet weather has made me spend the weekend indoors, glued to my computer screen watching my old slides from years gone! I came up with these colourful flower pics taken during the Chiang Mai "Flower Festival" back in February 1995. I have tried to polish them up again and get some life into these darkened old slides, and finally decided to put them up in an album. Click on the picture to go to my Photo Gallery! :thumbup Plahgat
  9. A good thing with this old hotel is that you can easily sneak in and use their swimming pool for free without hassle even though you are not staying there! ;) :( Plahgat
  10. I stayed in guesthouses in this area back in the late 80s, and already then Malaysia Hotel had a sleazy reputation and was gay travellers hangout! ;) I don't know how it looks today, maybe they have renovated the rooms? It's quite far from Patpong as well, and is a long sweaty walk! :o Would be interesting to see some pics from this hotel and this area how it looks today! :) Plahgat
  11. I like to stay in the middle of the "action" as well, and being a Cheap Charlie my choice is the "President Inn" Soi 11/1, in a small very quiet lane next to Swiss and Narry's. Small aircon room, one double bed, cable TV, free wireless Internet, big fridge, bathtub with hot/cold water, indoors phone, inroom safe, elevator and girlfriendly as well, but costs only 700 baht a night! :D No balcony, smelly rooms with fungus infected wall to wall carpet, falling apart furniture, leaking aircon and a few cockroaches...sure! but ...I save a few thousand baht that I spend on barfining pretty GoGo girls instead! ;) Plahgat
