    Hi all

looking at the read titles, I haven’t seen a September 2022 thread yet?

Am in Bangkok for the 2 middle weeks in September. 2nd visit. Anyone else gonna be around?

I’m back to Asia next month with work after a 2 1/2 year hiatus so will have a short stay in BKK 15-18 Sept before I fly to Kuala Lumpur. Happy to have a beer if you are around….

  2. Hi all,

Since my last visit to Asia I’ve got a new phone (but kept the same number) and deleted the grab app from my old phone.

But when I try to log into Grab on my new phone it keeps saying mobile number not recognised so I can’t log in? I can’t create a new account either as it again does not recognise my mobile number.

Anyone had a similar issue before with their Grab account when they changed phones?

    Any advice welcome!

    Hey,

I know this is a Bangkok forum but I want to contribute more to gain access to the advanced members sections however I don't have much experience mongering in the LoS.

I do however have some experience in the Dominican Republic so I was wondering if there is an off topic section for me to share those stories and that advice?

You could write a trip report in the trip report section, yes it is supposed to be for BKK for I’m sure no one will mind. There is a “trip report around the world” option in the advanced section which you can use when you get access.

If they are, they're doing a great job keeping it a secret.

From Bloomberg: Malaysia eyes international border reopening in December. Now, whoever followed SE Asia tourism news lately, know that "eyes" means jack shit.

Fair enough there certainly was talk of Malaysia opening this month as we have staff there who were telling us and I saw an article on it a few weeks ago….things move fast in Covid world though.

The Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit is one of my favourite hotels in Bangkok. I stay there every other trip. Decent gym, club house-style facility and lagoon-like pool area (though the water isn't heated). However, the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit is expensive. It's a luxury brand (in Asia) after all.

You don't have to register girls, but the hotel makes you sign a waiver each time you have a girl go to your room. The waiver is you acknowledging that you take responsibility for the guest. A staff will escort the girl to you room and you have to sign the waiver at the door.

Surely that’s going to be a massive turn off for everyone? Especially when there’s loads of 4.5/5 star hotels that let you just walk in with girls without any hassle
