Considering the current situation, it's probably a good idea to avoid having to do visa runs. As long as you'll be able to be back from Australia before your 90 day reporting is due, you should be fine with the single entry. Just remember to go get your re-entry permit before you go. Which school are you going to attend?
-
You would do a border run, only if you had a multiple entry. You will have to go to Immigration to have your stay extended every 90 days on a single entry visa. The school will have paperwork for you to take to immigration. This way they can decide to not extend your stay, if they think you're not actually going to school. I haven't heard of this happening to anyone yet. However, with the way things are now, it wouldn't surprise me. If you wanted to leave the country, you will need to go to immigration and get a re-entry permit. If you fail to do this, your visa will be done. I believe you would also have to be back in time to go to immigration before your 90 days was up. Do you mean Mo Chit, because On Nut and Saphan Kwai aren't exactly near each other.

If you could PM me the details of the warning, I'll pass that info along. As of right now, they are being told there is a network issue and that is why the pages are slow.
-
I haven't had any such incident, but I'll pass the word on.

BA doesn't have it and to be honest I'm not really sure why. I'll try to find out, if we can get it added.

You need to pick which location from the "Contact US" and call the phone number listed for that location.

10+ hours? Where are you getting this from? It takes about 3 hours to get to Poipet from BKK. Granted, if you count the coming and going you spend about 6 hours in the minivan. However, since it's broken up, it's really not that bad. You said you plan to come here for 6 months to a year, if I remember correctly. Therefore, I suggest you get a visa before you leave your home country. Depending on your visa, you'll either get 90 days on arrival or you'll get 60 days and can extend it 30 days at immigration. Of course, you can always fly out to another country for your visa run. It's up to you, as they say here.

My advice is to just do the border run yourself. You can use a service like Bangkok Buddy They will take you to the border and help you while you're there. You leave BKK about 5am and get back around 2pm in the afternoon.

How Is the Victory Monument Area?
rowy replied to simplelife's topic in General discussion about Bangkok
I suggest you check it out for yourself. Everyone is different and has their own likes and dislikes. Only you can decide what you like or dislike. Just stay in a hotel in each area you're interested in before picking an area and renting an apartment.- 1 reply

I think it's best to just send them an email and get the word directly from them. They can change their policy at anytime. Therefore, what was once true may not still be true.
-
Yes, they are open for business. They never closed and now the protests have moved out of the area.
-
The protesters are now set up at Lumpini Park.

I haven't gone past Phloen Chit BTS station lately. I'll try to go down there in the next day or two and will let you know.

That area is still safe.

As you walk out of the Landmark, look right and you'll see the Nana BTS station. Take it going towards Mo Chit and get off at Siam station. Switch trains at that station and get on the one going to National Stadium. This will drop you off by MBK. You can walk into MBK without having to go down to the street.
