bad3
Is Thailand the Land Of Smiles no more? Corona virus changed the world drastically but one of the things that made Thailand special and unique was the friendliness and warm smiles, even the fake ones from jaded hotel workers. This is my forth visit since 2021: Bangkok; Koh Chang, Phuket, Khao Lak, Koh Samui and Phang Nga, and I can’t think of the last time a local smiled at me. How do others find their interactions with Thai people.

Wagonner
I spent last December in Bangkok, and did a lot of walking. I found that if I smiled at a local, generally - not always, I got a smile back
JVHyatt
I faceplanted on Soi 4 one morning and my iced coffee and wallet scattered out in the street and like three thais literally ran over to help me up and gather my wallet for me. In the U.S., people would’ve laughed at me, put me on youtube and/or stolen my wallet.
