  1. I agree. The most I would do is upgrade to the corner room for a little extra space. I'm never able to stay in the hotel long enough to enjoy the free cocktails as I would rather be out and about watching people. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. The Agoda app is offering a 10% discount on many Bangkok hotel rooms right now. If you click on the room that you want and get to the page where you fill out your name, address, credit card number, etc. scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "Promotions." It will then either say that the promotion is available or not for that particular hotel. If it is, just click on it and proceed. You should see a 10% difference in the price. This should also be the all inclusive price with taxes and fees. According to the site, you can only use this once. I noticed that it was not available for any of the Sheraton properties but it was available for the Landmark and the Grand Swiss. Saves about 3000 baht on a 4 night stay at the Landmark vs. booking directly with the hotel. My apologies to the original poster for the slight TF. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I stayed in both hotels on my last trip. I have the Four Points booked for the first leg of my journey this year. I am still trying to decide on the last four nights. Others posters are correct in saying that Landmark is closer to Nana and Four Points is closer to Cowboy. I preferred Nana by a long shot to Cowboy last year but things change. Landmark is about 3-4000 baht more expensive than Four Points this year but that doesn't bother me much. I would say that the choices for food inside of the Landmark are much better and more variable than Four Points but neither can really be faulted either way. I did get a free upgrade at Landmark to a corner room and none at Four Points despite being a member of the loyalty program. If you go with the basic room at either hotel, I would rate them about equal. They are not really that far apart but your date for the night might not agree with that statement. Either way you choose would be a good decision. I'm also thinking of a Grand Executive room at the Grand Swiss as another option. It's a little more centrally located, I guess, and close to the middle of the price range of the other two. I have never stayed there though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I like the Landmark. It's just a few steps away from Soi 4 on Sukhumvit. It's not cheap but I can't fault it. What's your price range? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I never discovered the back entrance to Thermae. I'll give it a look this year. I enjoyed Hooters on a couple of occasions while staying at the hotel as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I agree that the Four Points is a good choice. The back entrance on Soi 17 is a great way to enter and head to the elevators without having to walk past the front desk too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I'm interested if they provide TRT shots. Could use a top up when in town for a while. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I've stayed at the Landmark on both of my trips to BKK. I cannot find fault with it. I have never noticed any noise at all but I can sleep through anything and I am usually focused on other things when in the room. They never gave me any trouble with guests. You can march your new friend up to the reception desk and have her drop her ID you can walk right by with your treat for the night and wave hello without depositing her ID. I personally like the choice. The Huntsman does have a good vibe although I have only been there twice. There were a few freelancers sitting around the bar enjoying drinks but they never approached me. If you sit at the bar and strike up a conversation you will probably be rewarded. I, too, think it is very much worth the price to stay there. I'll be back in November. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Thanks for the info. It's always good to here details on some of the lesser mentioned hotels the the Sukhumvit area. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Landmark for me. Sign up on their website for an account and they may upgrade you to a corner room if any are available. They did for me without even asking in November. All of the rooms are very nice and you can leave your guest's I'd at the front or not...up to you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. There aren't many crossings on the street itself between Nana and Cowboy. Most of the crossings are overhead on the various skywalks. I didn't realize it the first time I went and tried to cross Sukhumvit at the street level near Soi 13. I got halfway across the street and got yelled at by one of the local cops there. I learned my lesson and used the skywalks after that.
  12. I flew EVA business last year and wasn't offered a fast track card either. Right before we landed I asked the flight attendant if I was supposed to get one and she said yes and then gave it to me. It seems like they weren't going to give it to me unless I asked. As far as I could tell they didn't freely hand them out to anyone else either.
  13. Good points. I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask them when I get there. The worse that they can say is no. I am going to look at the different rates now. I have been to each of those websites but never looked for specials or promotions. Thanks again.
  14. Thank you, mrfreeze. I am looking at several hotels at the moment on that side of Sukhumvit. I stayed in the Landmark twice last year and really liked it. I am staying there again this year for the beginning of my trip. I just wanted to be close to Soi Cowboy at the end of the trip for no real reason other than to try out another hotel. I am also looking at the Westin, Four Points, and Grand Swiss. I can upgrade to suite type rooms at those places (maybe not the Westin) for roughly the same price as the Sofitel. I'm sure all of them are fine. I just want a suite for my last 4 days.
  15. Does anyone have a guess on what the chances are to get upgraded at the Sofitel if I am a first time customer booking the lowest class of room that they offer? I'm pretty sure it is zero, but I thought I would ask. I apologize for straying a bit from the original topic.
  16. Good info, jak0063. I emailed them and asked about their policy for more than one guest at a time and they just said "not allowed." They didn't say there was a joiner fee or anything for the second guest just not allowed. The did say that one guest was fine. I may have to rethink my choices if they allow more than one at a time.
  17. Bring a pen to fill out the card before you get off the plane. Sometimes they are hard to come by and it might slow you down having to fill it out once you get to the immigration desk.
  18. No need to get one prior to arrival. They will stamp your passport at the airport and it is good for a 30 day stay. If there's a fee associated with it (I don't know if there is or not) it should be included in the price of your airline ticket.
  19. Same here. No complaints from me either. Had to top it up do to sending text messages back home but was easy to do in 7-11.
  20. Do you mind if I watch this thread? I have some very similar questions. I have 4 nights booked at the Landmark for the first part of my trip but wouldn't mind trying somewhere on the other side of Sukhumvit for the last 4 nights. . I thought I might want to be closer to Asoke/Cowboy, but Soi 11 sounds like a good place to be as well. I'm particularly interested in the Grand Swiss too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Thanks for that info. Sure sounds easier than the old way. Please update us when you get your confirmation approval. Thanks again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I know the barfine process can be a little intimidating but you just have to throw your nuts on the table and do it. After you do it once or twice it shouldn't be a big deal. Skip the bullshit about the Karma. You will have plenty of time to do that when you are back at home. Focus on the pussy!! Have fun and let us know how it goes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Don't want to start a new thread either, but can anyone update the board with fresh information on where to find a reliable pharmacy near Sukhumvit for Super Kamagra as well?
