  1. That is sad news, Dynasty Grande was always my favourite hotel in Bangkok, but surely whoever takes it over will keep it as a hotel?
  2. Hi there, I usually stay at Dynasty Grande on Soi 6, but unfortunately it's still closed (what are they waiting for?!). Anyway, i've walked past Citrus Suites many times, and it looks a great place. My only reluctance in booking it, is i'm a very light sleeper, and i've always assumed that it would be noisy, given it's location next to those small bars, and being virtually on the corner of Soi 4. Can anyone who has stayed there confirm whether the rooms are noisy, or do they have soundproof windows? Many thanks.
  3. It is the same building. How is it looking now, I assume it must be just about finished if they are opening on the 1st October.
  4. Be very interesting to hear what changes they are making. Majestic Grande was a good hotel, stayed there a couple of times. I'm going to Bangkok in October or November, not sure whether to take the plunge and book ahead, or wait until I've got some feedback. I'm sure it will be very good, girl friendly, etc, but i'd hate to book it now, and be disappointed when I get there. Presumably they will have a new website up and running soon, which should provide more info.
  5. I'm also considering the Landmark for my next visit. I've seen a lot of posts stating how good the corner rooms are, but is there much difference between the Premium Corner rooms and the Premium Club Corner rooms? The latter are more expensive, but I can't really see what the difference is, they appear to be the same size. Is it just that they are higher in the hotel, and therefore quieter, or am I missing something? Thanks.
  6. I've stayed at Admiral Premier a few times, love it. Nothing flash, but it's in a quiet area, just a few minutes walk to Soi Cowboy, then across Suk Road to Soi 22. Rooms are comfortable, safe in room, pool and gym. Take as many girls back as you like, the staff are totally relaxed about it, as the only way anyone can get up to the rooms is via the lift, and only guests can operate the lift with their room card. You can also request an early check in if you require one.
  7. I've walked past the Landmark Hotel many times, and it looks a great hotel from the outside, and the location is excellent. My only doubt about booking it, is that I am a very light sleeper, so can anyone tell me how well insulated the rooms are from the noise of Soi 4/Nana? Many thanks.
  8. Hi there, i'm looking to stay in a hotel on Soi 18 or 20, 4 star (ish), 2-3000 bht a day. I've been looking at the Rembrandt Hotel, but it seems a bit unclear as to whether it is girl friendly or not. Anyone stayed at a similar hotel in this area, that is definitely girl friendly?
  9. I'm thinking of staying at the Continent next time, or somewhere similar in the same area. The main reason I haven't stayed in this area before is that I've assumed it would be noisy and therefore not easy to sleep. I'm a very light sleeper, so I try and choose a quiet hotel. Can anyone recommend a good hotel around the Soi Cowboy area that has excellent sound proofing from the noise outside?
  10. I'm getting a bit confused, I've stayed at President Palace on Soi 11 in the past, great hotel. However, when I was last there I was told it would be closed for a year for refurbishment. When I search on it now though, I can see recent comments on tripadvisor, but my search shows it as the Mercure hotel. Has it reopened but under a new name does anyone know?
  11. I have booked the Dynasty Grande for October, but i'm not sure if they have a safe in the bedrooms, they only mention safe deposit boxes, which i'm not keen on (don't like the thought of my passport and money being too far away from me!). Can anyone who has stayed at Dynasty Grande confirm whether they haved safes in room or not?
