  1. location depends where you want to spend time. ive lived in soi 4 / soi 8 / phrom phong / ekamai / and on nut. i found ekamai to be a bit too far from nana or soi cowboy and too boring unless you are going to wine bars in ekamai/thong lo . for myself phrom phong was great close to massage shops and walking distance to soi cowboy and nana with lots of grocery stores and shopping. Ekamai does have bigger condos at lower prices than thong lo or asok but require 12 month leases. getting a good large condo at a good price will be very difficult. alot want min 3 months and prefer 6+. unless its raining you probably wont be spending alot of time at home ( need for extra space ). my favorite living location for nightlife drinking was soi 8 easy walk home and restaurants and 5 min walk to bts. try serenity service apartments on soi 8 sounds close to what you want https://serenityaptbangkok.weebly.com but they go quick when they have open units. or try around soi 12 but they are more expensive.
  2. never found terminal 21 food court very good and never went there for good food, but went there for cheap quick clean food before going to nana or soi cowboy. best thing there was the papaya salad or steam garlic chicken ( Hainanese Chicken ). Before all the chinese tourists it was a great place to see alot of thai girls freelancers and gogo girls.
  3. never found prices cheaper in thailand than back home. Also can be problems with warranty work if ever needed if you go back home ( grey market ). Mbk is the only place for high end gear. there used to be a shop selling studio stuff ( medium format 5000-20000$ type equipment ) but they folded years ago. rama 9 ( fortune town across the street ) has almost an entire floor of camera gear / stores but it's mostly low to mid-range stuff but a few f1.2 lens. also a few floors of video gear. some stores left mbk and went to fortune town around 2016. back in 2019 a few stores still had stores in pantip plaza but mostly lower end stuff with a few odd expensive pieces. photofile also has a good used store on the ground floor of mbk ( or they did in 2019. and a good location on the 2nd floor ( maybe 3rd by burgerking in mbk ) Havent seen the new mall iconsiam whether or not there are any high end stores in there.
  4. onnut used to be very popular with gogo girls and bar girls ... but it really dropped off 2014-2016 when it became more expensive. pre-2014 it was 1/2 the price of what it is now and easy to get to with the bts. it still is a good place for the thai husbands ( maybe farang husbands too ) to keep their thai girlfriends. so weekends they hangout but week days the girls are free and bored and looking to make some extra money but only once have i seen girls getting picked up in onnut. maybe its " don't shit where you eat " my opinion since the end of onnut market ( around 2014) its become an expensive over-rated boring place to live. not really a good place to pickup girls in my experience. but a lot of girls from nana didn't mind going with you closer to closing time from nana/soi cowboy because they were close to home after short-time.
  5. Depends on how long you are staying, might be more hassle than its worth. You Can taxi bts mrt to enough places that having wheels wont really make a difference. Also Unless you know thai well enough to have a conversation it could be tough to get much out of the bikes where the thais know less english. But if still looking there was a rental place down soi 4 about 3/4 the way down. Its in an alley on the left. 77/9 sukhumvit 4 www.motorbikerentalbangkok.com website still up so it looks active. not sure about the license but doubt most thai police would know foreign license codes or international licenses.
  6. Slightly off topic, but not being in thailand right now how is the real situation in bangkok and thailand. Im just trying to understand how bad things really are and how much of it is the media driven both in thailand and in the world. There didnt seem to be any real precautions for about 2 months but i dont really hear any reports of massive numbers of serious cases in thailand. Given that thailand was the 2nd worst after china i was expecting to see some pretty bad numbers but i havent seen alot in the news, facebook, social media ... even talking to thai friends i dont hear alot of deaths and serious cases. Again just trying to get some feedback on how things are for conditions over there. In canada right now it seems way over reported and overkill to shut down the country for 50-75 hospitalized people that would statistically probably be hospitalized with the seasonal flu. Doesnt really make sense and here when the health officials are pressed for details that can be confirmed they start stating there are privacy issues and wont release that info. Just feels a bit to vague and questionable at times. Thank you for your feedback
  7. heard that border crossing sucks, the worst scams and problems in thailand. but if you're heading to shitville i guess its the best option.
  8. Stayed here once, it sucked. Noisy lots of Echos. Got in late and the room had no windows. I think there are better options in the area
  9. Heard tailor on ten actually at rhe end of soi 8. A bit expensive. Amsterdam tailor on 11/1 has good quality and ok prices.
  10. Saphan khwai has alot of options I would guess so does Chatuchak and worth checking. Have a look around seacon square or ramkhahaeng near the stadium. Big foreign university up there which always means bars and girls. Getting in and out sucks so you might want to invest in a motorcycle
  11. See what the packaging date is. No way it is kept at proper temp so if it’s not from that day it seems sketchy to me. Same with tops but the sushi sucks personally even as an option to Mcdonald. The sushi at sushi express in terminal 21 is cheap fresh and ok for the price. Also try sushi and other prepared meals at emporium. At 7 it goes on sale all the prepared food is on sale 30-50% off. Its kept at a better temp than other super markets and it’s pretty good and ok price. 89-130b
  12. Does anyone have a suggestion for amount to tip the girls for various extras hj oral fs? Thanks Walked into Nico today just to look at the price list but was out walking around all afternoon and did not feel like getting a scrub. Could use a cold swim instead. Anyways the place seemed really nice and the 3 girls i saw around reception looked petite and pretty. Will return for a scrub.
  13. I took the govt bus i think this week pattaya to bkk. Only took 90min from pattaya to ekamai bus stn pretty happy with that guess you could take the bus to bkk airport and then train it in if the traffic was heavy.
  14. Always hear good things about healthland massage. There are many and one just north of terminal21. Good services at good prices. The one on ekamai offered deep tissue but not sure if every location offer the same services. Also the wat pho school has a branch at soi 37 beside Tokyo joes. A little out of the way but good services.
  15. I wanted to get some feedback if thats ok by and admin. i am looking at renting 2-4 bedroom condo in the asoke area with the intention to airbnb the extra room(s). I have heard that its not really legal but talking with a couple of friends in the guesthouse industry it is possible if its not too in your face. the places im looking at have a relaxed policy on airbnb with a few already in the buildings and guests already coming and going. the questions i have are would you be willing to use an airbnb shared setup with a private room and private bathroom with use of the kitchen and living room tv internet....? what would be an amount you would be willing to pay per night? within a 5 min walk to soi cowboy modern condo with pool and guest friendly. non smoking unless outdoor thanks for your feedback and suggestions and comments. have a good one.
  16. Any other suggestions for st options around soi 15 area?
  17. I second the snake farm and displays. Coming from a place with basically no snakes its great to learn about them. I would go again and its pretty cheap. Go in the afternoon when there is a presentation. I believe the morning show is milking venom but i could be wrong.
  18. I would skip spice tours for bike tours. The guide wasn’t very good. Co van Kessle bike tours look good , they go out to the less traveled areas of bangkok. Not sure about the others.
  19. Should be repair of apple products not for apple products, not sure if there are any dealers of apple products in pan tip.
  20. Been to both recently. Pan tip is still good for repair places and apple products ( try woody he is one of the best in bangkok ) there are lots of legit brands there but a lot of the good shops are gone. Almost no camera stores let i saw maybe 3-4 at most. I Still say go to fortune town for products and repairs unless you want something else from the area like clothes from platinum, pratunam market. There are at least 4 places that fix apple and a lot of service depots for other brands. Much easier to get to as well.
  21. No problem on taxi go to the ground floor to the middle of the building. There will be 20+ waiting. I suggest you get the address in thai from your hotel or screenshot a map if its not one of the bigger well known hotels. It’s about 300b plus 70b tolls to nana. Most hotel like 80% have staffed desks 24hrs mine did not so try to confirm before arriving. It takes about 45min to get through passport control and get your bags. Another 45 to get to your hotel.
  22. A bit out of the way on soi 23 and down the street from soi cowboy is tom’s massage they have girls and boys doing the massage, legit and the reason i mention it is 100b a hour for thai massage. I’m a cheap Charlie and 100b sounds right to me, then soi cowboy or terminal 21 after
  23. In rural Thailand its pretty common for the girls at hair salons to work in the sex work industry so it could be easier than you think
