YankeeDK
I was just browsing Agoda and saw the Grand Sukhumvit for 1983 baht (+tax and service charge). That seems like a really good deal for a 5 star hotel. Can anyone confirm that it is still guest friendly?

Zauberfee
No. its not. I have just sent them an e-mail and they are saying 1000 Baht joiner fee. Fuck that. Then they must have changed their joiner policy. A couple of years ago a stayed there many times I never had any problems with temporary guest. Even two girls from an escort agency didn't cause any questions or problems.
bob_ny
http://www.royalpresident.com/ is this hotel close walk to Nana? bars etc. Is it easy to cross roads there? I have never been to BKK before. My friend said to stay at Grand president, but I'm reading some bad reviews about it. My budget is around 30,000 bht for a month. Royal President and Grand President are both owned by the same company. I stayed at the Royal President and as far as access to the area, I found it pretty far up the soi, but still manageable. I prefer to stay on soi 11. There is a shortcut to soi 11 if you cut through the alley next to the hotel. Then it's a quick walk to the middle of soi 11 without having to walk back down to suk. There's also a free tuk tuk ride that the hotel supplies during the day, I think it's from 7 am until 8 pm. They'll take you to the Asoke station or Nana station of the skytrain. Nana is soi 2 And Soi Cowboy is around soi 23, so it's close to both, probably a bit closer to SC, and Thermae's right down the block. imp
I stayed there a few times. You can go in at the street level entrance if you don't want to be seen by all the staff. The staff don't seem bothered by you bringing in a girl, but there is a lot of them in the main lobby.
