Dream Hotel

Recommended Posts

We had need to go up to Bangkok on Monday and rather than dash back we decided to stay over night. A friend who was going with us suggested the Dream Hotel situated on Sukumvit Soi 15. As soon as we arrived I knew it was the right choice, it is what I think you would call a 'designer hotel' and the staff were excellent to match.

Whilst having a superb foyer and a huge spacious dining/breakfast room, the standard bedrooms are not large but have been designed from start to finish. You immediately feel comfortable all lights are controllable the flat screen TV was let into the wall with a slim line DVD player below. The wardrobes all have hidden lights when you open the doors with ample hangers, a safe, sleepers and dressing gowns.

There is a well stocked fridge, a glass top table, and two drawers equipped with a coffee making paraphernalia along with beer, spirit, wine and champagne glasses. A bowl of fruit.

The curtains are fully lined black-out ones that let very few chinks of daylight through, to compensate this once you have turned the lights off there is a special low glow switch which will give the room blue 'Mood" lighting, you have to experience it to understand when I say, if you have a lady with you hang on to the bedsheets as your in for a ride. Speaking of the bed it and the bedding were the most comfortable I have ever experienced in any hotel.

The breakfast was an excellent buffet affair with a fresh egg station, and did I mention how well trained the staff were? When we went out in the evening to eat, we asked them how to get somewhere they asked the name of the restaurant, then found the number, phoned it, got exact direction to them then called a taxi and ensured he understood their instructions of where to go.

The total price for this on agodawas 35 US an absolute steal when the lass said to me as we left; I would like to stay here again please.

We did not go fully prepared as it was a spur of the moment thing but here are a few pictures.

Thanks Cerebrus. I will be in Patts next Sunday, prior to that a couple of days in BKK and decided on the Majestic Grande but that was before your post. On my return to BKK I will be staying one night at the Dream, but I'm definitely not paying the price you got. Mine is about 3000BHT through Agoda. No matter, I look forward to seeing you at the Den! I was there 2 years ago and had a great experience.

Thanks for the review cerberus. Me and my gf stayed there about a year ago and we both liked the place. My GF said the place was "perfect". I think I payed around $45 through Agoda but my room was a bit bigger. During breakfast I saw that Dream actually has some Farang staff. It's a good place to bring a GF or LT but I'm not sure if they have a joiners fee for the guys who are looking to bring different girls back to the room. I'd ask before you book

Thanks Cerberus for the tip.

BTW, I searched online and it seems Dream Hotel doesn't charge a joiner fee. I'd still confirm before booking since policies may change.

Also, I checked on Agoda.com and in June, the price for a basic room is about $80USD or 2,700 baht/night.

Staying here at the moment and no joiners fee

Thanks.

When I stayed there last year on holiday I booked single but turned up with my TGF and they told me they were going to charge me extra. 5 minutes after getting to my room my phone rang and they had changed their minds. No extra charge. Besides that I have no complaints.

By now, I have become a regular at Dream Hotel. Have stayed there consecutively on my last 3 trips. Befriended the floor manager - it has advantages, as now I get a upgraded room on my bookings. The staff is extremely friendly. The rooms very accommodating. I like the quiet and private feel of the hotel. The caliber of guests is also classy. They have no joiner fee - bring one or bring a whole truck full. If you need assistance, just call 'Giant' and he shall arrange for anything you want.

Taxis are readily available. BTS is short walk away. Food is not that great and expensive. The girls love this hotel. You can't beat that!
