Zauberfee
Does anyone know if the Banyan Tree is "Guest Friendly" Yes, I do ... it's gf (from my own experience) ... but imho the hotel itselfi s not worth a stay, plenty of other (and better) hotels available in Bangkok
IFHP
Thanks for the reply mate - I have stayed in a few different hotels in BKK and wanted to give it a try. What's put you off the Banyan Tree if you dont mind me asking? I really liked the Majestic Grande for location etc but stayed there so oftern its time for a change! Zauberfee
What's put you off the Banyan Tree if you dont mind me asking? nothing wong with your approach of trying out different hotels, but in my opinion Banyan Tree was rather old and outworn, service from hotel hotel was rater subpar standard, not really friendly, breakfast was ok, but nothing special, but you still pay premium rates for a 5 star hotel. The hotel still benefits from its reputation from the past, but that's it. So many awesome new hotels that proivde both great accomodation and service: (in no given order) W, Sofitel So, Sofitel Sukhumvit, Okura, Hansar, Oriental Residence, S 31 and probably many more. But this is just my preference, YMMV Edited April 5, 2013 by Zauberfee
beachboy63
Stayed 2 nights in February. Checked in with a lady I met on Thai Friendly. Took her ID details and my passport. The room was good but it was quite a stroll to the BTS station so easier to head out by taxi. Of course that means after peak traffic times. The suites only concept is good, and all the new age stuff really wows the TGs (completely GF by the way) but there is better value at that price.
