The best I have had was last month in Jakarta flying business class with Garuda. When you leave the country you don't even go to an immigration counter. They direct you straight to the business lounge after check-in and a girl takes your passport. 10 minutes later she brings it back with the exit stamp. Not sure how that works when they don't see you in person.

I had a problem with Agoda in February when the hotel I booked for 9 nights in Phuket was fully booked and would not accept my Agoda pre-paid booking. They put us in a far inferior hotel and when I complained to Agoda on my return all they offered was a 10% discount on my NEXT booking. They asked me for a review later but did not publish it. I think they only like good reviews.

I agree. Have not stayed there for a couple of years, but it was starting to look a bit worn. The suites only concept is good, and all the new age stuff really wows the TGs (completely GF by the way) but there is better value at that price.

Sukhumvit between Asoke and Soi 3 used to have a bad reputation for ladyboy pickpockets late at night - usually working in pairs. Not sure what it's like now.

There are a whole slew of British pubs between Sois 33 and 35 - The Londoner, The Robin Hood, King's Head and The Dubliner (Irish, but close). All doing good business.

Have eaten here many times, especially when I was living in Bangkok. They have a big carpark which is never full. Very classy place and great staff. Good to take that "special" someone that you want to impress!

Had an excellent dinner in India Today (upstairs) on the corner of Sukhumvit and Soi 8. Nice decor and very attentive service.

You can get a visa on arrival in Vietnam if you have a letter of introduction. This is easily obtained from these guys http://www.myvietnamvisa.com/ Much easier than going to the VN embassy in BKK as you can do it all online and you don't have to give up your passport.
