  1. Walk of Shame in budget hotel? Really? What I experienced in this case was rather that the hotel staff worried about me when I went to my room in the evening without a female companion. Most of the time i was ask next day by a security guard, if everything is OK. On the other hand, it happened to me twice that after spending the night without a female companion, the girls from the reception or travel desk became very "friendly".
  2. Should you book in advance or not? I guess it depends on the circumstances. If I'm not staying in one place for the whole stay, the preferred strategy for me is to book a hotel from home for the first week and then book locally, but via the internet, for the rest of the trip. In fact, I have more often found 4-5 star hotels for prices per night for well under 80 euros. If you stay in the same place for the whole time, I have always done best by looking for special offers a few months in advance. Sometimes overhang rooms are offered at special prices at short notic
  3. As far as five-star hotels are concerned, I have never came across one that was not guest-friendly. Whether it was Landmark, Sherton or Marriot, there were no problems at any of them. Unfortunately, I can't say anything definitive about the Oriental 🙁. In my opinion, the Landmark is one star class higher than the Adelphi. Especially if you get a special offer at the Landmark, which are offered from time to time, i would prefer it hands down.
