  1. The Sofitel is great. Booking at the hotel in person will be the most expensive option. I would always book direct online with Accor (Sofitel is part of "Accor" hotel group). Sign up for Accor's member program (It called Accor Live Limitless - really stupid name), and you get extra rebate. (plus you can earn hotel points or airline miles for the stay). Normally, you can also get 15% cashback from Qudico or Topcashback or similar sites. If a 3rd party site has a better rate, Accor will match it (and give a further rebate). From time to is also a special "MasterCard" or "Visa"-rebate (or other promotions, its hard to keep track) - normally 20%+ off - sometimes with free breakfest - they come and go. I got 20% from a "MasterCard rate" on my last stay - no special card needed, i'm not sure you even needed a MasterCard. Just goolge "Accor Thailand offers 2023". New onc seems to pop up every month.
  2. I've never had a hotel ask to see a girl's ID in Bangkok. Maybe a nod from the receptionist, but that's all. But if you really want to be able to skip walking past the reception completely, stay at the Doubletree on Soi 26. They have a back entrance to Soi 24. It's open 24/7, so you can enter and exit without going by the reception. It's very easy to find, just walk right out of the main elevators instead of left to the reception. It's also a shortcut to the BTS, so many people use it. But as others have said, don't worry about it. The staff really don't care. Before my first trip to Bangkok, I did a lot of research about which hotels were guest-friendly, but now I just assume any quality hotel on Lower Shukumvit is. It's never been a problem.
  3. The Sofitel on Sukhumvit i great, if you are not too concerned with price. I've had quite good luck getting room upgrades as a Accor Elite member. On a budget, the DoubleTree (Hilton) on Soi 2 is nice for the money, it's usually not to expensive (3000 and change last time i stayed). I would say its a class above Novotel (and way above Ibis) Though the short cut to Soi 4 is block by construction a the moment.
  4. I stayed here in jan 2020. - I walked by the reception multiply times, with a different girl each time - no one said a thing or seemed to care. It's properly the "worst" Hilton Hotel in Bangkok, i prefer the Hilton or Doubletree at Soi 24/26, but a great location. Any news if the ally to Soi 4 will reopen after the construction? It makes the location a lot better. * "Worst" is harsh, it's a very fine hotel, i just prefer the other Hilton hotels on Sukhumvit if i was ranking the Hilton options.
