  1. Hi Karoos

On Agoda $41- 1,185bht need to add tax, at 7% superior with breakfast, never stayed there my self, about a 5+ min walk to BTS, you can use the cut threw past Lolita’s ? On to soi 6, then on to soi 4 if you are after nightlife.

On soi 8 there are some good little bars, and good food at the soi 8 bar breakfast is spot on and large enough to fill a horse.

If you are coming for the night life may be soi 4 is the better option many hotels near same price range, Boss Suites, ok to good, dynasty inn, about 1500+ ,any way plenty of info on the site ref hotels, both GF and the normal type.

As for arriving with no booking depends when you are arriving songkran soon one or two good deals already taken, it can be hit and miss generally walk in can be a bit more expensive, but have done it many times due to uncertainly of getting home from work, but it can be a good idea if not used to LOS to have are booked hotel peace of mind

  2.

Hanrahans Irish Pub on Suk Soi 4 has cider for sure mate.,

yes mark they sell it there ok , the ultimate breakfast drink, on Occasions leading to a seriously expensive day and sever memory loss. And once woke up next to Boss hog lookalike,

mark what is the chance of you getting bit of the cider in, some of the stowford press stuff is mint, but seriously character altering after about 5 pints, ok can be a pricy i understand that one.

  3. Managed to book my flights now 11th Bagdad, Dubai-BKK, just in time for the Madness, I am staying in the Nana hotel Been a long time since I have stayed there, but it was at Songkran and I had a ball, I can not convince my mukers to stay but I am.

I thought about it last time home,(fed up of walking up and down the soi) reason good swimming pool (not that you need one at songkran) can sleep my handover off ,good service both poolside and hotel and straight out in to the action. Down side the rooms take some getting used to, but they are clean, not there to impress the BG, s I leave that to my wallet. If any one around lets have a beer

  4. Just booked the MONACO Hotel on soi 2 ,on my mates recommendation, they where there NYE and they rated it ok to good, they had no

HHad a bit of a nightmare with the Monaco, nothing to do with the standard of accommodation, I emailed them direct to inform them I would be arriving at about 09:00am, but I decided to have a coffee or two in the star buck in the airport so I was not to early as they did not respond to my email.

Any way got there about 10:50, arrived at the front reception desk ,there was chap sitting there hardly lifted his eye brow to aknolage my presence, handed him my sheet from Agoda, with out even looking at me told me to come back 14:00, no room ready , I did point out I had emailed them .

But he was adamant that I was not getting in till the afternoon, I was bubbling been traveling over 24hrs, he would not move even for a small back hander, I could not hang around that long I was hanging out, to off I popped, fuming to myself, not so much that I could not get room but the blokes attitude was shiteeeet.

I was sweating like OJ Simpson now with my big bag, so I just walked round to Grand Dynasty and got a room there no problems, but to add insult to injury my mates turned up only 20 mins later and got there rooms straight away, they booked directly with Hotel, don’t know if this had any thing to do with it. Either that or I need to change my deodorant lessons leart stick to what you know works hotel wise

That said I did pop round to see the lads and the rooms looked very clean and modern they siad it was a good place and fairly cheap. By the way Monaco is on soi 2 down near the bottom

  5. Just booked the MONACO Hotel on soi 2 ,on my mates recommendation, they where there NYE and they rated it ok to good, they had no

problems with there guest, so we have just booked a long we-end on the 24th for 4 days at 1275 Bht,AGODA (rememember to add Tax ) i will up date when i am there ,i belive you can use the gym at the marriot on soi 2 if so this is good news as this is a very good gym , to get the beer out so i can start again.

  6. Hi Jackman

if you are looking for a high end hotel ,near the action the Marriot on soi 2 is GF ,not had a problem here at all, also the

Landmark GF , as is sheriton . All theses high end hotels are on Sukumvit a lot closer than the Lebue, i have stayed in two of them and never had a problem with taking any one back. You will have a better time around this part if you are here to play.

  7. There is of cause the walk of shame"esspecially if you end up with some of the ladies i end up with, you know they love a good gossip: oh my God look at that,,its shamefull should be allowed"" I must admit the walk of Shame has beaten me on more than one occasion, when work have paid for a posh hotel , but good on ye if dont let the Bstrds bother you.

This is Mohamed our part time Barber, got him in to give us a brush up ,now i know i am going on leave, he is a good egg but i do keep one eye on him especially when it comes to using the cut throat Razor at the end.

  9. Hi ,just a quick bit of advice, got my, boss coming over in a week or so, was thinking of taking him and his missis to the Long Table ,only ever been there once and I was two sheets to the wind, but don’t think you can just walk in and get a table ,anyone have any idea, if this is doable or need to book, they are rather posh so this place fits the bill, Oh by the way I will be paying so it going to hurt no matter where I go.

They are a good luagh not up there own bums and in there late 30s i will get them a bit merry and then sujest ,i then get them out on the town, i will of cause be taking them to Lower Suk,or i will get the withdrawl shakes,

  10. Just a quick heads up on the Royal Ivory Hotel in soi 4 me and a couple of mates booked in there the other week end after reading a few oldies reviews cheap and clean?

Well I don’t know what happened then because it was a proper dump, I had a Deluxe so called room I think 1400Bht ok not expensive, the place was not even near clean.

When you enter the lift there is a sign telling you no spitting so that is a combat indicator of who is the main customer here. The widow lock was Brocken (I was on second floor easy to climb) the bathroom was heaving.

I am sure this place has changed ownership, because I have had friends stay before and they said old but spotless. Bangkok would have to be like Bethlehem (no room at the inn) for me to stay there again.

  11. ooroo

The one on Soi 2 is very guest friendly ,and a good place to stay the rooms have everything you need in them and the good thing about this Amari is it has a back entry dirctly on to soi 4 opesite the Omni Tower, so a 5 min walk to (NEP), and action al the way up the soi. Just to add mate if you are here for over 3/4 day perfect have washing matchines and all the mod cons ,so no waiting to get your dancing gear back ,

  12. Hi Steve

No problems mate i have a few mukers comming up from Patts ,i actually get in now on the 8th at 08:30, in morning always stay Lower Suk , This bieng a friday ,we will be having an afternoon session, thinking about going up to soi 33 for an houre or so at the Office Bar ,always been good on fri afternoons ,then seeing what heppens from there Mate

We are in town all we-end then back to Patts on monday, you are more than welcome to come along for a beer"

  13. All depends on your budget.

My preference is The Dawin (B1800 p/n on average).

Well located, clean, GF, small roof top pool, excellent service.

    Sound advice acoolbreez

Some of my mates have stayed here a few times and they only have good things to say about it , good location ,good price, always seems to be busy (good sign)always see people relaxing on the Pation to the front of the hotel with a beer watching life in the soi go past. Will have to give it a go myself some time

  14. Pacman .mate there are some good recomendations in a the Bangkok GF friendly up date Thread, most of them are what you are looking for ,if you dont want to stumble far then soi 4 is your baby ,as you know soi 11 a littled futher away good for chioce for Cowboy of Nana, and still a good soi for hotels and Bars /Clubs,

My Fav at the mo is the Amari on Soi 2 (2400 +)Bht ,depends on how long u are staying ,then the Dynasty Grand soi 6 has every thing you need about 2000Bht when i stayed the other week.

    Have a good trip

  15. Ok I have dried out now my clothes and my kidneys/ liver are like new, from last month’s celebrations,

Boss says you might have to go home a week or two early to make the rotations work, ok I will take one for the boys I say” Oh yes, booked my return on the 6-7 June.

was going to stay in the Ramada Encore, but Citadines on soi 11, seems a good deal got it for 1700, including breakfast that I never make, usually.

So first 3 nights BKK told my mukers to get there dancing gear sorted, and we are on the town , then Patts to see my kid, and to do a first aid refresher (just to remind me on the damage I am doing on a bender)). Then back to BKK till 4th of July no fire works for me though, but by that time I should have fizzled out any way.

This time I have promised myself a Soapy or an Oil, all the time I have been here and never done one, I go out with the intentions to have one,

I have a few beers to get some courage, gee myself up , then one beer leads to another or one of your mates turn up, then u end up on a session ,just mange to get home in one piece, and wake up next to a trout. Better luck next time I say, so any one around if you need a beer give us a call

  16. Thanks for the heads up, it does spoil the feeling for a place when something like this happens, I think it is hard for them to realize that a double room+ breakfast can mean two people, they just have to see it in black and white,

I always book two people on the booking form telling them my GF will be here later. It should not matter if a different girl is sat at the table every morning” bought and paid for.

I think I will stick with my usual hunts now, all for trying somewhere new but cannot be bothering with a row before my breakfast if I make it that is? Good on you for sticking to ur Guns, just watch they don’t skiff your, toast now, don’t taste to nice.

  17. Nice review Squeez

I was looking for a new place to lay my head next month, this looks and sounds like the place for me. In a good position soi 10 options left right and forward for drinking once i get on to Suk,

Raistx, mate have stayed at the boss a few times ,sounds like they are botha bit of a walk on there soi,s, but Boss is on 4 so not to far to get some action, last time i was there the bathroom was stinking a little, no big deal, but waking up with a bad head and smelling thatevery morning put me of a bit.

  18. Just a quick update I was on the Livingston Lodge on Soi 33, had to run way from one of my longtime friends the other week she was doing my Napper (head) in ,threatening to spoil a good week end .

So I did a runner leaving her in Citadines on soi 11 (obviously paid the bill before I did one ) made some mad excuse and headed of up soi 33/22 area knowing she would not find me there.

Ended up trying Darjelling hotel but they had only one night available I needed 2/3 so of I set with by bags I sweating like OJ Simpson by the time I got to Soi 33, went straight to Livingston Lodge.

Never stayed before but seen it advertised and it was GF Friendly, and more to the point right out of the way.

I got a superior 1800bht it was nice not too much room but enough for me and a friend, it has a small Refrigerator with enough to beer to get you on the road and in the mood.

The bed was very comfortable, they have a room safe, and big enough to get my note book in, the bathroom was different old crazy stone work but nice for a change had all I needed the shower was good, and there were plenty of towels.

The Aircon was a bit temperamental, but overnight it worked well enough, Breakfast is included in the price, I usually do not make breakfast but I did here I was good enough to keep me going, till lunch. The surroundings where nice, this place has a certain ambiance to it, very quiet, and the pool is looks nice.

I did not see any Gym in this place, and I did not ask was to intent on having a good time before going back to work

The have two bars from what I only went in the one with Aircon it was still redders outside, they have a few hostesses, and a couple where good looking, but I had had at least 5 beers already, so do not take my word for it, they have the pool table gang also and they do some very good food, from what I could tell a couple of fellas I met where tucking in to Chicken dish, they said it was nice.

The staff and Management are very friendly at this place, no problems with bringing back your Guest for the night, the manger was even joking with me about not coming home alone.

This place is a hidden retreat I would have no problems returning here, either on my own or with my Daughter.

If you are a fan of soi 33 or 22 this place would be ok for you, the superior rooms are value, but there is a steep increase in price for Deluxe and the Suites, all in all a nice place getting a little wornish not bad by any means
