  1. ooroo The one on Soi 2 is very guest friendly ,and a good place to stay the rooms have everything you need in them and the good thing about this Amari is it has a back entry dirctly on to soi 4 opesite the Omni Tower, so a 5 min walk to (NEP), and action al the way up the soi. Just to add mate if you are here for over 3/4 day perfect have washing matchines and all the mod cons ,so no waiting to get your dancing gear back ,
  2. All depends on your budget. My preference is The Dawin (B1800 p/n on average). Well located, clean, GF, small roof top pool, excellent service. Sound advice acoolbreez Some of my mates have stayed here a few times and they only have good things to say about it , good location ,good price, always seems to be busy (good sign)always see people relaxing on the Pation to the front of the hotel with a beer watching life in the soi go past. Will have to give it a go myself some time
  3. Pacman .mate there are some good recomendations in a the Bangkok GF friendly up date Thread, most of them are what you are looking for ,if you dont want to stumble far then soi 4 is your baby ,as you know soi 11 a littled futher away good for chioce for cowboy of Nana, and still a good soi for hotels and Bars /Clubs, My Fav at the mo is the Amari on Soi 2 (2400 +)Bht ,depends on how long u are staying ,then the Dynasty Grand soi 6 has every thing you need about 2000Bht when i stayed the other week. Have a good trip
  4. Hi Jason Yes mate they are GF had a couple of my mates stay the other month and had no problems ,dont know there take on more than one .enjoy
  5. Thanks for the heads up, it does spoil the feeling for a place when something like this happens, I think it is hard for them to realize that a double room+ breakfast can mean two people, they just have to see it in black and white, I always book two people on the booking form telling them my GF will be here later. It should not matter if a different girl is sat at the table every morning” bought and paid for. I think I will stick with my usual hunts now, all for trying somewhere new but cannot be bothering with a row before my breakfast if I make it that is? Good on you for sticking to ur Guns, just watch they don’t skiff your, toast now, don’t taste to nice.
  6. Nice review Squeez I was looking for a new place to lay my head next month, this looks and sounds like the place for me. In a good position soi 10 options left right and forward for drinking once i get on to Suk, Raistx, mate have stayed at the boss a few times ,sounds like they are botha bit of a walk on there soi,s, but Boss is on 4 so not to far to get some action, last time i was there the bathroom was stinking a little, no big deal, but waking up with a bad head and smelling thatevery morning put me of a bit.
  7. Just a quick update I was on the Livingston Lodge on Soi 33, had to run way from one of my longtime friends the other week she was doing my Napper (head) in ,threatening to spoil a good week end . So I did a runner leaving her in Citadines on soi 11 (obviously paid the bill before I did one ) made some mad excuse and headed of up soi 33/22 area knowing she would not find me there. Ended up trying Darjelling hotel but they had only one night available I needed 2/3 so of I set with by bags I sweating like OJ Simpson by the time I got to Soi 33, went straight to Livingston Lodge. Never stayed before but seen it advertised and it was GF Friendly, and more to the point right out of the way. I got a superior 1800bht it was nice not too much room but enough for me and a friend, it has a small Refrigerator with enough to beer to get you on the road and in the mood. The bed was very comfortable, they have a room safe, and big enough to get my note book in, the bathroom was different old crazy stone work but nice for a change had all I needed the shower was good, and there were plenty of towels. The Aircon was a bit temperamental, but overnight it worked well enough, Breakfast is included in the price, I usually do not make breakfast but I did here I was good enough to keep me going, till lunch. The surroundings where nice, this place has a certain ambiance to it, very quiet, and the pool is looks nice. I did not see any Gym in this place, and I did not ask was to intent on having a good time before going back to work The have two bars from what I only went in the one with Aircon it was still redders outside, they have a few hostesses, and a couple where good looking, but I had had at least 5 beers already, so do not take my word for it, they have the pool table gang also and they do some very good food, from what I could tell a couple of fellas I met where tucking in to Chicken dish, they said it was nice. The staff and Management are very friendly at this place, no problems with bringing back your Guest for the night, the manger was even joking with me about not coming home alone. This place is a hidden retreat I would have no problems returning here, either on my own or with my Daughter. If you are a fan of soi 33 or 22 this place would be ok for you, the superior rooms are value, but there is a steep increase in price for Deluxe and the Suites, all in all a nice place getting a little wornish not bad by any means
  8. Does any one know if the new Sofitel Hotel on Suk near Therma is Guest friendly looks very posh , it is in a good spot for reaching the pleasure Zones, in between Nana and Cowboy. Would not mind trying it out but dont want to wast my cash if it is non friendly, (and i can bet there will be a walk of shame connected with this place)
  9. I was going to get my self in there last week ,made my self a promise to try it out after all the good things i have been told, but i was weak and ended up getting blasted ,on soi 4 however i am back tomorrow (in Nonk Nong Khia till 14th) so i will definatly get my arse in for a beer, thanks for the heads up lads.
  10. I did not know wnat section to place this but This section seems ok I should be jumping around for Joy” looks like the visa is sorted and I can go home on rotation the 15th”the missis and the kids are happy, been planning a family holiday we can now take But I can just not get up for it knowing there will be six young brave men flying the same day (Repatriation) back to their home and Family’s and they can never take a holiday, it will be a long time before there families are happy again “GOD BLESS YOU” There plane and escort will arrive 13:30 UK time ,and if u have a spare second or two please give a little thought to them and there family’s
  11. I've been shopping for the right flight/hotel deal for weeks. The prices are starting to rise, so I decided to buy today. Sweetheart deal 13 nights at the 4 star Rembrandt Hotel and flight for $1,857 from the center of the US. I bought it on CheapTickets.com. I would personally not use this hotel any way they are not very GF friendly even if you are in a long term relationship, there are many reports on other web sites on encounters with the reception staff here.
  12. Thanks Stamapede Glad to be of any help, like I say everyone has a different take on their hotel” but the more info out there helps everyone to make a choice that will suit them. The ironing thing, I bought myself as a treat a really good shirt form Boss in Paragon last year was my favourite cost $$$$. :o One week was in a rush to get my dancing gear ready sent it with other stuff to the Cleaners, came back big iron mark on it “not their fault really should have known better” (that cash would have got me a stunning friend for the night) Lesson learned.
  13. My first pot on the site a few Hotels that i have used in BKK this is my own experiences, every ones has a different take on there stays i hope this is usfull to any one Hotel Name: Dynasty Grand Soi 6 Girl Friendly: Yes/ But if more than one I think you pay a joiners fee Rates per Night: THB Deluxe no balcony1980, not to sure now, they have some promotions on, Way of Booking Walk in internet own hotel web site, Agoda Girl Friendly: Yes/ always never asked me or my mates for ID Way of Booking: Walk in/ Phone/, Agoda, Booking .Com and Dynasty Web site) Phone Not much difference between cost *my own experience may not be the same as others) Review of Hotel: Reception the staff has always been good, for me, arrived mega early one time and they found me a room did not have to wait till one was ready. Gym is also very good, couple of jogging machines and an X trainer, lots of weight machines all body parts, a smiths machine, rack of Dumbbells, swimming pool nice lots of sun loungers. Good parking if u are arriving by vehicle. The Deluxe, room was ok for me, they have different style room for a few Baht more not worth the money, the only difference I saw was the internal window (balcony they call it) the new rooms are good, a lot fresher than the old ones of cause. There is no iron or board in the room I stayed in was a real pain if u are staying more than 4=5 days, having to wait on the laundry to get back. I had a problem one time they said no Iron supplied, my clothes were like a map of the Himalayas, in the end I nipped out to home pro and bought a small iron for 400bht. Cleaners always friendly, I usually leave a tip on the pillow each day not much but seems to go a long way room was done as soon as went out. Have now moved the Barber salon outside, they do a decent hair cut me and some of my mates have had cuts trims here and ok, did not look like I had a basin on my head. I use the Taxi Service outside Mr.Watt for my trip back home to Pattaya, a bit expensive ( Baht 2000) but really safe and decent Car. (Reason I say safe once had a an accident on my way home with a taxi driver from Bkk, must have been awake all night he fell to sleep ) Food ok in bar /Restaurant down stairs in the foyer have a nice patio out the front you can relax and enjoy a beer or food. Only a short walk on to Soi 4, if u go left, go right either on to Suck, nana Stations 3-400mts, or on to Soi 8 via a cutright by Lolita’s?? Hotel Name:Boss Suites Girl Friendly: Yes/ always never asked me or my mates for ID Rates Per Night: THB, 1200+ Way of Booking: Walk in/ Phone own web site Review of Hotel The reception staff have always been ok / get a welcome drink on arrival, very business-like pay up front if walk in, The security guy on the night shift is a good egg, had a drama one night with a night stalker going of her head, he soon moved her on. Always seems to be one of the cheaper options on Soi 4,I think because of the location it is a far way down the soi, take a left and then down a small lane, Hotel on your right at bottom. They have Tuk Tuk but he can be busy sometimes, but the walk as never bothered us (unless it is raining) plenary of options on the walk up soi 4 always something to keep u amused. Only one elevator, this is small (i am ok only small lad anyway, but no chance of more than three if someone has the Full Monty with them +the bell boy (Man) Parking under the Hotel good and safe have taken both Bike and car (not same time of cause) get a vehicle pass from reception put it in car window. The Room I had was standard they have different themes I believe, I have stayed 3 times and twice my bathroom, smelled of damp? (Ok it is meant to be wet) the shower was not that good, also glass front to bathroom with a blind pull down don’t leave a lot to the imagination. The bed was comfortable, all in all a decent hotel if u do not mind the walk. I believe they have a pool and a small gym but I have not seen them, so cannot comment. Hotel Name: Heaven@4 Hotel Girl Friendly: Yes/ always never asked me or my mates for ID with our guests Rates per Night: THB Superior Room w/BF 1274 - 1274 ฿ 1274 ฿ Superior Room r/only Last Minute - Room ONLY 1274 - 1274 ฿ 1083 ฿ Deluxe Room w/BF 1529 - 1529 ฿ 1529 ฿ Junior Suite w/BF 1954 - 1954 ฿ 1954 ฿ Executive Suite w/BF 2294 - 2294 ฿ 2294 ฿ Way of Booking: Walk in/ This is from their own web site dated Feb 19th12 Review of Hotel: The reception is a small desk as u walk in, with one lady behind it; the bell boy appears as if my magic. The boss owner is an Indian fella his office is on the left as you stand at reception so any problems with booking he can get involved, always friendly. I had a junior suite on both occasions, room is nice very colourful, there is a desk for internet, they have fitted sofa to one side of the room so more playful options. I did have problem both times my Visa card would not work here, so I paid by cash, I phoned visa and they said there was a problem with the hotel getting excepted? The shower was always cold for me, never did get it to work, both times I stayed, the shower room bathroom has a glass front with a shade pull down. I must admit I did like the room, but the one I had did not have any windows, this was a bit off putting, total black out when light is off ,some Thai people don’t like this gets a bit scary for them ??. They do not have iron or board in room can request one but takes ages. You get the usual 2 free water bottles, the cleaners did a good job each day once again I left a small tip each day ,because I used all towels , made a bit of a mess , had too much beer No problem for the cleaners seen it all before. There is only 1 lift this is also very small if u have luggage from hell u will struggle, there is a stairway if u are on a low floor I would use this it takes ages for the lift to arrive. They have a small bar to the front of the Hotel this is ok for a night starter or to meet ur mates cannot remember if open till late. I did not see any Gym or pool so cannot comment and no parking. Hotel Name: Nana Hotel Girl Friendly: Yes/ they have guy by the elevator checking ID Rates Per Night: THB , 1300 standard , Way of Booking: Walk in/ Phone Review of Hotel: The Old man of the Soi, this hotel has seen it all, and so have the staff, however the reception staff are very professional as are most of there staff. As u enter the main door the reception is on the right, they sorted my booking out right away, unfortunately for me my mates booked me this hotel, as they were already there and it was songkran, so the only room they had was one of the Big rooms with a Jacuzzi and it was expensive (2500 Bht) standard 1300Bht the room was dated but very clean the bed was massive all wooden very comfortable though. I did not use the Jacuzzi looked if it had seen better days and had some hard use, as did the whole bathroom, but it was clean. There are two lifts so getting up and down is no problem, the swimming pool is good for relaxing through the day has a bar and u can get food there also, down stairs there is a Massage shop?? And a hair salon. At night the infamous/ famous(old Angels) Night club Nana Liquid there is also a coffee shop Restaurant in the main foyer food as always been ok for me there. Good parking large car park to the front entry of the hotel, busy place at night/ and day for that matter?? All in all the Nana has been here a long time I would never say never again because it is ideal with a good bunch on mates on along we –end bender, no so posh as u have to be careful who is watching . Hotel Name: GW Marriott Girl Friendly: Yes/ you can get some strange looks when u enter with ur guest Rates Per Night: THB , 5000 Deluxe Guest room other are +$$$$ Way of Booking: Internet, Agoda. Walk in Review of Hotel: Truth I love this hotel, everything was great there except the cost of cause, But work paid for the two times I have been here. Good parking in their own car park right next door, you can get accesses from the hotel second floor This was a solo trip mates where away, Reception was very good room was booked for two people , just said my guest will be joining me later, So gave me 2 room cards, up to the room Bell Boy got my baggage , tip expected as always(I don’t mind). Room was very comfortable; internet was good, tea/coffee making kit, Air-con good. Great gym free when guest use , swimming pool peaceful ,Gym equipment modern and well maintained, full range of CV, machines, and plenty of loose weights they even have a punch bag in the aerobics room. The Spa is great or so I am told by a lady I was talking to, bit too expensive for me. The Restaurants are very expensive (but outstanding) as you would expect here, same as the room service. The area in front of reception has a bar area, u can order tea coffee there also, once again a bit on the steep side, me and a friend had a few cocktails there before going out they were good strong, and $$$. There is also a foot bridge going over to the shaping mall, with a Starbucks in there also this is on the second floor. I did see a couple of lads from the middle east one night have a small drama with the guests for the evening, girls where super drunk and creating a seen, but the lads did not seem bothered, I would have done a runner. As mentioned if u are not bothered about the walk of shame and u can afford it this is a good place to stay. Hotel Name: President Palace Soi 11 Girl Friendly: Yes/ Ask for ID if you book in with Friend , Rates Per Night: THB, Superior 2500+, DeluxeLounge 3000+ Way of Booking: Internet, Agoda. Booking .com, Hotel own web site some good deals. Review of Hotel: Great hotel I have stayed a few times using both the superior, and club deluxe rooms. Cannot miss this Hotel has a large Manchester United Bar on the right as you look at it. Soi 11 is a very good soi with many options for food and entertainment from the high end Bed Club, Q Bar, to Cheap Charlie’s an outside bar, Climax club under Ambassadors Hotel, Aussie sports Bar good food, also one of the Hillary chain right opposite the hotel, The Man U bar has a nice seating area outside, but I have never seen it full except for breakfast. The Club floor was a bit more expensive , but well worth it if you are making a special occasions of it,(or want to impress ur guest) the club floors have a different booking in reception, if you walk to normal reception one of the front desk staff will escort you to the club lounge to get you booking done. The club lounge is nice not to large but has snacks on hand most of the time breakfast is better than down the main (man united) bar breakfast room. Cocktails where free, both in the lounge and down at the pool, this also included local beer, for the deal I got also some free beer in ur mini bar. The Deluxe room was larger than the superior ,with a seating (relaxing)area, it was decorated nice lighter than the superior which I find is Dark, The bed was comfy, bathroom was in good order shower very good, it has an iron and board in the room, Free Wi Fi with password issued when u book in at reception. The superior room was a good deal I walked in last time so had to haggle a little, and got the price down because I have stayed a few times, and was staying 8 nights (the duty Manager Thai, young guy has a bald head is always very helpful) .If u book superior the breakfast is in Man U bar, can get very busy, German Restaurant over the road makes a good breakfast and fairly cheap. They have Gym it is small but has a couple of jogging, and X Training Machines, there are a couple of weight machines, one for bench chest/shoulders .one for Abs, also a rack of Dumbbells. The pool is descent has a shallow end for the kids, and a small bubble type pool, the pool area is a nice place to relax and also has a bar for snack and beer. All in All a very good hotel have no difficulty’s with bringing any one or two guest back and no walk of shame there are two sets of double lifts to speed u away if u have aloud guest. There is also parking at this hotel if you take your car. Hotel Name: Citadines soi 11/ Apartment type Hotel Girl Friendly: Yes/ very never had a problem. Rates Per Night: THB 1900, for the studio, Way of Booking: Internet, Agoda, Hotel own web site Review of Hotel: This Cracking little apartment hotel, they have 1and 2bed room apartment, and a studio Executive? I have stated in the studio and the 1 bed room .the one bed room is not worth the extra money unless you want a bath, because that is the only difference I could see. The studio is great has all the things you need except a washer but laundry down stairs, TV slides on a rail whether you are in bed or on your little sofa. Bathroom was in good order, shower always worked well, even at getting ready time. I have used the gym it is ok a couple of CV machines, jogger and X Trainer, and a rack of dumbbell’s. The pool is smallish but ok for a dip, did not seem too many sun lounges. The hotel has a Tuk Tuk to get you up the Soi the reception staff have always been good ,got me sorted when I have arrived early, I have seen them be a bit off with one person who’s booking was, not right (who was at fault don’t know) This has good parking if you drive there, Once again soi 11 a good place to base yourself. Hotel Name: Citi Chic Girl Friendly: Yes/ very never had a problem. Rates per Night: THB 2500 for the room I had no balcony Way of Booking: Internet, Agoda, Hotel own web site Review of Hotel Have stayed twice at this hotel is was very good I have never met more friendly staff in any other hotel I have stayed in, always on hand to help you out. I have my luggage missing, from Bahrain, they when in to over drive to get it delivered to hotel next day I gave them the Airport contact number I was given and they did the rest. The next morning there it was delivered, they helped translate to the delivery man, one of my watches was missing and I had to do a report. The rooms are very nice well decorated furniture is in good order, the room was also quiet, and the cleaners are also good room was spotless every day. There is Wi Fi in the room, and also an internet station in the foyer. I never made breakfast but it is severed down in the foyer, they also have a bar in the same place, never used it though. There is a Gym,it is ok CV machines x 3,jogger and X Trainer, and a couple of weight machines, also a rack of dumbbell’s the pool is small but nice on a hot day , only a small number of sun loungers also. I like this Hotel the only thing wrong it is getting a bit expensive now and it is a long way down the soi , right to the bottom of Soi 11 then take a right walk about 70 mts ,you should see it once you turn of soi 11 right in front of you. Most people use the soi 13 up to Suk, but at night this may not be to every ones taste, they have a Tuk Tuk but were of the road last time I stayed. Parking is very limited on the front of hotel. Hotel Name: Amari Residenc, soi 2 Girl Friendly: Yes/ very never had a problem . Rates Per Night: THB 2300 + there are some deals about on different web sites. Way of Booking: Internet, Agoda, Hotel own web site walk in. Review of Hotel: This is my favourite at the moment ticks all the right boxes; this is an Apartments type hotel. If you arrive by taxi or car you will come in by the main entry on Soi two the reception is to the right as you enter the glass double doors, they are very professional and friendly. One other thing good about this hotel it has a small entry direct on to soi 4, opposite Omni Towers, so no walk of shame(discrete) the security guy there is very good and after the first couple of times he recognises you . You can go directly in to the hotel, walk passed the security gate, under the hotel on your far left are a set of glass doors leading to the lifts. There are two lifts in the foyer, they now have coffee shop, in reception good coffee’ there is also an internet station x 2 by the reception desk free to use. Internet is in all rooms password from reception. The rooms are very good light, and very clean, they have all the amenities you need including a washing machine. If you are staying here over a few days this would suit you down to the ground, I usually stock up on basic from the 7/11 nearby on soi 4 just for a decent brew in the mornings. The bed is good for me, wardrobe space is good in room safe also, + iron and board, Bathroom both bath and shower. The cleaners are good and very polite; there is a small convenience shop on leve2 (washing powder, milk snacks) Parking is also good here. The Gym is good have a decent section of equipment, CV 2 x Joggers’ X Trainers, bench press machine, rack of dumbbells. Swimming pool nice not to may sun lounges firs come first served. They have a decent Restaurant down bottom floor, I never maid breakfast so cannot comment, but had food from the restaurant it was good. Hotel Name: LandMark Girl Friendly: Yes/ never had a problem did ask for ID have a desk on the left as you enter ,they did move it to discretely in front of the elevates as not to embarrass any one walking in with their companion’s Rates Per Night: THB 3000 + there are some deals about on different web sites. Way of Booking: Internet, Agoda, Hotel own web site walk in. Review of Hotel: Nice big hotel getting a little dated in some of the superior rooms (basic) but I have always landed with a decent one, and I do not spend that much time there, only sleeping the hangover of. Good bed soft, clean room showing the odd sign of aging, bathroom good also had no problems with any of the amenities in there. I once stayed in the Landmark club floor executive room, you book in on a different floor with its own reception, the room was slightly binger and not so worn, but to be honest for the extra money (work paid and it was NYE) I would not bother. I do not know if I was given a duff room because did not seem very executive to me?? (And I used to work down the mines so what would I know). However they have their own bar Lounge, breakfast area free Drinks available happy hour. They have a very top end Restaurant up there also I did have some food here one time and it was outstanding, but this place is strictly for very special occasions $$$$$$. I did use there Gym free for residence ,I think it is Fitness First, lots of CV equipment , runners and X trainers, good lose weight area, instructors on hand to help I did see an aerobics room, sauna, I did not use the pool. They have a couple of Bars the Huntsman in the basement with a resident Pilipino cover group, they are good” the food down here is also nice plenary of TV if u want to see a match or sporting event. Prices are a bit higher, they do happy buy one get one free which is ok. The Ex pat Manager is a friendly guy and helpful if this is your first time in town. The other bar is a bit more trendy and $$$,but I have never seen many people in there, it is in the Foyer on the right as you enter, if coming from the elevators walk in to foyer look quarter left and you will see the bar entry it gas a couple of large settees(couches) outside it. One of the good points for me is the Outside patio looking on to Sukumvit, good place to sit and watch the world go by with a decent coffee, but not a cheap, place to eat and drink. All in all, the Land mark has been a Bangkok institution they play it right between people coming to BKK for a good time??, the Holliday family and couples old or young, the Business person.
