The area around Phrom Phong is Suk area? Or am i wrong?
soi 22 has also a lot of fullservice massageshops. That's near Asok.
It’s all Suk area. Lower suk is from Nana to Ekamai (give or take). Asok is definitely classed as Sukhumvit area though.

Thanks for that. I love pool so will add that to my list.
You can have some fun afternoons having a few beers playing pool with other customers and the bar girls.

I am also going to be a newbie to Thailand but will leave before January. I have heard that is easy to make friends with other tourists.
Same as anywhere mate. Some people are ok, some not. I find if you end up playing pool in some of the bars you usually end up chatting with people.

The best Pizza in Bangkok is Pizza Mania. Only take away though.

Would any kind BM give a guess how much a Grab or Bolt would be from Nana to Samui Prakan ... about 30k I think ... I have a sometimes LLT in Bangkok but now living there with a relative since the covid. Might be a good few journeys involved ... long story...
It’s just shy of 19km. I just tried it on my grab and it was 296thb.

On the subject of taxis is it possible to pay for your taxi from the airport (Swampy) by credit card at the airport before you go? Also does Grab still work in Thailand?
Yeah, grab still is the way to go. There are a few news ones like Bolt too, but grab is still the most established.
Don’t know about using a card at the airport. Not through the normal system I wouldn’t imagine as you still give the cash to the driver.

I know what you mean, I was there pre-pandemic during 2019. Why are there so many though. What's up with that. And they are so aggressive.
I know right? There was so many massage shops, but I reckon around 90% must have had Ladyboys. I walked past so many shops because of this.

I’ll be landing on August 27th stay three days in BKK and then Phuket
Watch out for the Ladyboys in massage shops in Phuket. They are rife.

It is good, but you can get just as good food at half the price elsewhere. Worth doing once though. And the waiting time won’t be as long at the moment. I went during covid and walked straight in.

It’s nice enough, be sure to do some smirking trips a s the waters are good around there. Taking a girl with you is a good idea if you know one who isn’t mental.

There's nothing preventing you from submitting a fake day 5 test picture, it's supposed to be uploaded into the Morchana app but doesn't work, so send it to the hotel you stayed your first quarantine night in and they will upload it onto the system for you. Hope this helps
No need. There are no tests anymore.

Starts again on the 29th.

Yes, It sounds weird but according to what I've been told, I have three options.
1) Issue a visa here before I travel
2) Ask for 30 days extension while I am in Thailand
3) Pay the fine of 10€ per extra day
none is wrong if I don't stay more than 60days...
Be aware, the fine will be recorded and could be problematic for future trips.
-
Just get an extension. Having an overstay on your record could be problematic in the future.
-
Currently it is just registering for the Thai pass and then one night booking with an ASQ hotel. No test required before traveling. Obviously, you need to be vaccinated.

Don't do it. Although you're not locked in, there is usually a guard on the floor to ensure no one leaves. Even if there's not then its a very bad idea. A few people have done it and the hotel reports them to the police and they've been all across the news, fined and deported.
For the sake of a few hours, just wait. The system is annoying, but works and allows tourists to come back to Thailand, hotels to reopen, and staff to be employed again. Every time there's someone walking out and the local news picks up that another arrogent farang ignores the rules it jeopardizes the reopening of the country.
Stay in, enjoy the hotel room, get over yoiur jetlag and go out a few hours later refreshed and ready to have fun.
This. Definitely don’t do it.

-Results usually come within 12 hours at the most. If you fly in at night, you'll likely have your results after breakfast.
-Plenty of hotel quarantine hotels around Sukhumvit, most are in this area.
-Ladyboy massages are strangely far and few between. The easiest option here is the place opposite The Landmark Hotel between soi 5 and 7. You cant miss it....or more like they won't miss you. There's usually a few cute looking 'girls' sitting outside waiting for customers. There used to be a few options down Soi 7/1 too, but not sure whats open there now. Being hidden away a little its been a busy soi during Covid. If you're happy to bring one back to your hotel then there's a huge group of them outside Therme every night.
That place you mention between Soi 5 & 7 is now a small LB bar (used to be a luggage shop). Makes sense I guess.

Update from AQ guys..
THAILAND PASS
SERVICE UPDATEDue to the current situation our team will stop accepting new cases for Thailand Pass services for the following destination / program combinations.
• Test & Go: Phuket
• Test & Go: Krabi
• Test & Go: Phang-ngaWe are still accepting Test & Go cases for Bangkok, and Pattaya.
We are also accepting all Sandbox, and AQ requests.
I’m not sure this is accurate. It is being reported that no more test and go applications will be accepted after midnight today. If you already have your pass you are fine but need to take an extra (free) test on arrival. Phuket is the only active Sandbox at the moment. This will all be reviewed on 4th Jan.

That would really suck ass. I just bought my ticket a few days ago, arriving first week of January. Got my Thailand Pass and everything sorted and done for the Test & Go. If they change back to full quarantine before that, I will have to cancel everything. No way I am spending one or two weeks in quarantine (with a negative test result nonetheless).
😞
You are good if you already have your pass.
-
Still have to be careful thought. Police still raiding bars after 9pm looking for booze being sold.
-
If people are after Gogos, Phuket is the best option.
-
Whilst bars won’t officially open again until January now, you can still have a decent night out in Bangkok. I think Pattaya is pretty dead though.
-
No quarantine from 1st Nov.
Everything open (this is the plan anyway) from 1st Dec.
Best “Short-Time” Bars in the Suk, Nana and Asoke area for “daytime” activities?

I think the short time rooms are still closed in the plaza. All the girls knows hotels for use though.
