  1. I went in the afternoon the other day. About 2.30 pm. Really quick. Take a photocopy of main/front passport page, entry stamp and TMR (white) card. Also need a photo. There is a photo and copy shop down 1 floor if needed. You can get the application form off the website.

Hardest part is getting the idiot taxi driver to get you there. There is a map on the website but that just confuses the clowns.

Note they close between 12 - 1 pm. So 2 pm allows them to clear the backlog.

    Cheers,

  2. Last time I was around (april this year, during songkran, I visited bar 4 and asked for Mark, but the lady on duty kindly answered me you were not there. Retry in october then :P

I have been in West Africa for a few months doing a "proper" job. Sad thing is the bar seems to work better when I am away from it. ;-)

The good news is I am on my way back soon Michael so we can have a beer or 10 mate. See you in October and looking forward to helping in your birthday celebrations.

    Cheers,

  3. Thanks for your comments mark. I have yet to taste an Aussie red that could be described as barely drinkable.

No sweat mate. I am currently being hounded by some sociopath on another forum about some bill from 2006. This bloke has a sheep loose in the top paddock I reckon.

Fortunately people that know me come to the fore and help out.

  4. Glad you cleared that up. I have met you briefly a couple of times in your old Soi 8 bar (with Brownie, Leachie, Mick the Greek, Andy, etc) and the behaviour described above seemed most out of character. I read what was written above to Andy and he too was most puzzled. You big, bald, standover merchant. ;-)

BTW Christmas lunch in No Idea was excellent. Now I know why - your chef is quite accomplished.

I also know Peter, the guy that owns Stonefish Wines. A very nice bloke who will be most dissapointed to hear his wine is not drinkable. :-(

  5. There is a whole electronics street that I wish I could find again. Stores selling all kinds of components- chips, transistors, etc.- and again, a line of street shops with guys fixing fan motors.

Probably Ban Mo over near the river. maps.google.com and search for Thanon Ban Mo. I take the river ferry from Saphan Taksin to Memorial Bridge and walk in from there.

  6. Sports bars? Any bar owned by an Australian with a TV will have both grand finals on - that curtain-raiser on Saturday and the proper one on Sunday.

This place definitely has it on live: http://www.sportsbarbangkok.com/

Maybe also Hanrahans or Strikers on Soi Nana - Gullivers on Soi 5 Sukh - the Sports Corner on Soi 20 ...

Don't forget this Aussie owned bar. :-(

We will have it on for sure - with audio.
