  1. Not much on this thread about the subject of the thread.  I have never been to the Hyatt, but found it interesting that the Spasso club was mentioned.  I did some research on this club as more info is available elsewhere on the Internet.

Maybe you guys who have been there can tell me if I am spot on or not on my take on it.

The Hyatt may have some appeal to people who want to book in a nice upscale hotel not known for being a mongering hotel near Nana or Soi.  That may be good for the guy who wants to be able to let anyone know where he is staying without them thinking he is there to monger.  Let's say a guy gets in late.  Can go right to the hotel, check in, and Spasso is a restaurant by day and night club by night with high drink prices and with pros and non pros.

Advantages are you can walk right down from your room to the club, and if you find the right girl, take her to your room.  My understanding is the advantages are no cab back and forth (saving time and $), no BF, and girls at Spasso include stunners who speak English well.  Seems like the negatives are that the girls are a bit older (disadvantage for those who want a younger less experienced perhaps less jaded girl), and also, the prices are way higher.... perhaps 5000 for ST.  Could not get a feel for how willing the girls were to do LT and those rates.  Although everything is negotiable, it is said that these girls tend to not come down often, but some of these same girls can be seen elsewhere for less.  No one wants to pay more, but there are advantages of no cab, BF, convenience, and having a stunner.

Yes you have it pretty much spot on. I normally stay at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit as I collect Starwood points and as a Platinum member they treat me very well there (upgrade to suites, free breakfast, free drinks between 6 and 8pm). Plus no one bats an eyelid if I say I am staying there rather than the Nana hotel.

Yes Spasso's can be convenient (or you could try Bar Su at the Sheraton or Club 89 plus at the Conrad). You get some nice girls there, normally a bit older and they seem to start negotiations at b5000 ST. I find they will normally convert the B5000 to LT or go down to B3000 ST but will not go much beyond that, plus you have to pay for the girls drink (normally she has nursed one all night) which at these places are expensive (Think b300 - b500)

  2. I think most guest friendly hotel do not care if you book for one or two people. I normally just book for one and have never had a problem bringing back a guest.

If you are staying at an unguest friendly hotel booking for two is no guarentee. They will expect the second person to be the same for the whole of the stay and not change every night.

  3. Yes virtually all airlines give out vouchers like the one in the photo above to business and first class passengers. make sure that if they do not hand them out on the plane that you ask. Sometimes they forget to load them, but they should be able to call ahead and get someone to meet the plane and hand them out.

Note that Thai have a separate system for their First and Business passengers, they do not give out vouchers. They have their own separate Fast Track desks and you have to show your boarding pass

  4. This is the one I bought on-line and used from the link I posted on your topic you posted

I had no problems, and everyone in line at immigration had the same coupon

Yes this is the voucher that the airlines give out as well. Only it would have the airline stamp instead of AOT guest. In my experience the immigration people who collect them pay no attention to them so as long as you hand one in then they do not look to see whether the flight details match up with your boarding pass.

  5. a) You need to ensure that they do put on the meter and it should not be more than about B250 plus B70 for the tolls

    B) Technically I think you could get a Tuk Tuk there but it could not take the expressway, would cost as much as a taxi and be bloody uncomfortable. So there really is no point compared to taking a taxi

    c) There is a bus to DM but I do not know the details - It would be the cheapest option.

    d) There is no Skytrain to DM

Personally when for about 10 bucks you can get an air-conditioned taxi door to door I do not see the point in taking a bus or anything else.

  6. The main advantage is that if you take the airport train and BTS the time will be fairly fixed the only variable is how long you have to wait for a train but you should be in your hotel in about an hour. If you take a taxi and arrive when the traffic is quiet you will be in your hotel in about 30 minutes but if you arrive when the traffic is very bad it will be nearer 90 minutes. I normally arrive in bangkok at about 8pm on a Friday and it very rarely takes me more than 1 hour to get to Sukhumvit Road area.. The train will probably save you about BHT100 or BHT150 compared to a taxi.

But the real downside of the train is lugging your luggage about. The BTS is not designed for people with big suitcases and a 5 minute walk down hot humid and crowded bangkok streets is not nice experience

  7. Yeah I go there frequently as I normally stay at the Sheraton. It is the hotel nightclub and is open until 2am, most nights it has a live band and a DJ in between the band's sets. the quality of the FLers tends to be high but so do their prices, they really are looking out for business travellers staying at the hotel. If I was not staying there I would probably not bother going as there are many better options in Bangkok. But I have to say I have had some fun nights there.

  8. The hotel is totally guest friendly. The main lobby is on the first floor and there is another entrance on the ground floor. So if you do not want to walk through the lobby with your girl you can always enter the hotel from the street and go straight to the lifts bypassing the lobby. But personally I always go through the lobby.

The girls in Bar Su will start negotiations at 5000 ST but it is an opening position meant for business travellers who have no idea what the going rate is. But you can get them down to the same sort of rates as top go go girls ie 2000 st or 4000 LT. Of course the closer it is to closing and they do not have a customer the better your negotiating position is. Plus they will expect you to pay their drinks bill, most will only have nursed one drink all night but at Bar su that will still be at least B300.

  9. The Sheraton is a good choice. The hotel is in a great location attached to Asoke BTS and Sukhumvit MRT stations so getting around is easy. You have SC just a 5 minute walk away and Nana a 15 minute walk or one BTS stop away. The hotel is part of the Sheraton Luxury Collection so is a step up from most Sheratons. The staff are great, the pool area is fantastic a real oasis from the madness of Bangkok, and the buffet breakfast is one of the best I have seen anywhere. Yes the Sheraton is expensive and you can get perfectly acceptable accommodation in Bangkok a lot cheaper but you do get what you pay for with the Sheraton.

The Flers in Bar Su a couple of years ago the last time I talked to one where starting their negotiations at BHT5,000.

Yeah would be happy to meet up for a beer, I'll PM you when i have my trip confirmed.

  10. I'm arriving in BKK on the 28th for 2 nights then down to Koh Samui, I'm staying at he Grand Sheraton, toying with an escort from Viagra girls to show me sights on 1st night but would welcome a wingman for any advice

Hi Ns1 I will probably be in town on the 28th and staying at the Sheraton as well. The Bar on the ground floor of the Sheraton called bar Su has freelancers so you do not even have to leave the hotel on your 1st night for some action. They are not cheap but if you are staying there and considering using an escort agency then I assume that you are not on a very tight budget

  11. I'm stopping at the Sheraton Grande, I've emailed them directly and asked the questions about guests joining me & the response I got was that the room is sold for 2 persons so no problems, if that turns out to be different I will update, but no harm in dropping any hotel a quick mail to ask the question ?

I've stayed at the Sheraton Grande many times and it is definitely girl friendly.
