  1. Thats great thanks. I've gone for the Four Points. Generally like the idea of the side entrance so I can at least be a little incognito.

Just need to find two willing participants for what I have planned now! But that's another question I guess...

Thanks to everyone on this thread for the help.

I think you will be happy with that choice. Have a good time and please tell us all about it.

  2. Ok to do at The Landmark as well. You basically just walk right by the desk and smile. They never asked me any questions. I never had the girls from a threesome leave their id at the desk either.

Also cool at the Four Points by Sheraton. I use the entrance on Soi 17 generally and don't have to walk past the front desk.

I'm not sure what either hotel would say if you asked permission though.

  3. Google "Bodyglide Anti-chafe balm." This is, by far, the best thing that I have ever found for the problem. Rub it on the area like a stick of deodorant and you should be good to go.

  4. The Agoda app is offering a 10% discount on many Bangkok hotel rooms right now. If you click on the room that you want and get to the page where you fill out your name, address, credit card number, etc. scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "Promotions." It will then either say that the promotion is available or not for that particular hotel. If it is, just click on it and proceed. You should see a 10% difference in the price. This should also be the all inclusive price with taxes and fees.

According to the site, you can only use this once. I noticed that it was not available for any of the Sheraton properties but it was available for the Landmark and the Grand Swiss. Saves about 3000 baht on a 4 night stay at the Landmark vs. booking directly with the hotel.

My apologies to the original poster for the slight TF.

  5. I stayed in both hotels on my last trip. I have the Four Points booked for the first leg of my journey this year. I am still trying to decide on the last four nights.

Others posters are correct in saying that Landmark is closer to Nana and Four Points is closer to Cowboy. I preferred Nana by a long shot to Cowboy last year but things change.

Landmark is about 3-4000 baht more expensive than Four Points this year but that doesn't bother me much.

I would say that the choices for food inside of the Landmark are much better and more variable than Four Points but neither can really be faulted either way.

I did get a free upgrade at Landmark to a corner room and none at Four Points despite being a member of the loyalty program.

If you go with the basic room at either hotel, I would rate them about equal. They are not really that far apart but your date for the night might not agree with that statement. Either way you choose would be a good decision.

I'm also thinking of a Grand Executive room at the Grand Swiss as another option. It's a little more centrally located, I guess, and close to the middle of the price range of the other two. I have never stayed there though.

  6. ...and nice and close to the back entrance of Thermae as well.. added bonus of the small Hooters out the front. Great hotel in a top location.

you see some sights coming and going from the elevators when having breakfast in the morning!

I never discovered the back entrance to Thermae. I'll give it a look this year.

I enjoyed Hooters on a couple of occasions while staying at the hotel as well.

  7. Of the 2 Sheraton wins hands down.

Between aLoft and Four Points, Four Points is my favourite as aLoft the beds are too hard for me and some of the rooms have a musky damp smell to them.

But for points redemption aLoft is good value.

The Holiday Inn on Soi 22 is also in an excellent location to the bars in the area.

I agree that the Four Points is a good choice. The back entrance on Soi 17 is a great way to enter and head to the elevators without having to walk past the front desk too.

  8. Reply from a He Clinic Specialist - “Low testosterone treatment can alleviate low testosterone symptoms."

Millions of men suffer from low energy, low sex drive, poor sleep quality, or lack of mental clarity. Low T treatment at He Clinic for men can bring you back to form. Men begin to lose 1 to 3% of their testosterone every year, beginning at age 30. Many men suffer from andropause, commonly known as Low T or low testosterone, but they are not aware of it because the problem develops gradually, almost unnoticed. The effects of Low T are often confused with ‘old age’. The number of your years should not determine the level of your energy.

After initial evaluation the He Clinic will recommend a Low T treatment proven to return your testosterone to a healthy level.

After beginning a testosterone therapy program, patients report:

    • Increased energy level

    • Increased sex drive

    • Desire to be active in life

    • Increased muscle mass

    • Decrease in belly fat

Finding out if low testosterone is affecting your life, book an appointment and start to get your life back on track.

    Give us a call at He Clinic +66 (0) 087 804 9542 or +66 (0)2 381 5155

    Extremely helpful! Much appreciated.

  9. I've stayed at the Landmark on both of my trips to BKK. I cannot find fault with it. I have never noticed any noise at all but I can sleep through anything and I am usually focused on other things when in the room.

They never gave me any trouble with guests. You can march your new friend up to the reception desk and have her drop her ID you can walk right by with your treat for the night and wave hello without depositing her ID. I personally like the choice.

The Huntsman does have a good vibe although I have only been there twice. There were a few freelancers sitting around the bar enjoying drinks but they never approached me. If you sit at the bar and strike up a conversation you will probably be rewarded.

I, too, think it is very much worth the price to stay there. I'll be back in November.

  10. Scoobydook, thanks alot. Many questions were answered on Buttvikings link. Wow, thanks. Ok, just one very plain question and definitely newb question. Is Sukhumvit Road hard to cross? That would wiegh in on choice of hotel. Seeing as massage parlors are spread a bit, i would be happy to be in the vicinity of soi 13. I'm more of a walking type and don't mind a little exercise. I can see using bts to patpong if i go there..[emoji4]

There aren't many crossings on the street itself between Nana and Cowboy. Most of the crossings are overhead on the various skywalks. I didn't realize it the first time I went and tried to cross Sukhumvit at the street level near Soi 13. I got halfway across the street and got yelled at by one of the local cops there. I learned my lesson and used the skywalks after that.

  11. I'll be in Bangkok from December the 5th till the 8th, then again on the 16th and 17th.

Most of us are there on the 6th, shall we make that a day to meet up?

I don't really know the best bars to meet, but the last time I was there I had a good start to my night in Hilary 1

it's not far from Nana Plaza and google maps says it's on Nana Tai Alley.

How does 6pm on Tuesday 6th December sound ? I'm easy on the time or venue

Let me know if you fancy meeting up there, don't forget it's not a contract you're signing, if you aren't there on the night

    there is no forfeit ;)

    I'm in.

  12. By no means first trip. However EVA has never offered a pass for fast track when flying their business class. I will be inquiring about this for my next trip though. Seems I have been getting short end of the stick for some reason.

    attachicon.gif20160520_131217.jpg

I flew EVA business last year and wasn't offered a fast track card either. Right before we landed I asked the flight attendant if I was supposed to get one and she said yes and then gave it to me. It seems like they weren't going to give it to me unless I asked. As far as I could tell they didn't freely hand them out to anyone else either.
