Well, for those who may consider this hotel, the room (deluxe suite) is quite nice and big, very good value through the Agoda booking! The location isn't bad either (about a 10-min walk to get to Sukhumvit\Asoke).
BUT the bastards have a clause at the bottom of the registration form that clearly states that there is a "500 bath fee for companions"
-
Will also be staying there as of tomorrow. Checked online and it is clearly listed as GF. Will post an update if that isn't the case! :P

Will be here in early Dec and back in January!!! :-)

I doubt they'd care about that, but they actually searched you at a roadblock? Any particular reason? Luckily this had never happened to me yet...
Where you from in Canada mate?
2 days ago I've been search in a police roadblock and they find my 4 viagra pills pack and he said to me "Don't worry it's ok". Even if it was real one from Canada, I think it's the same for all the pills you can buy here. They are more looking for hard drug, specially crystal. Still be carefull .

I've tried a variety, including real cialis (cost a fortune from hospital), kamagra, fake Viagra and Cialis, as well as kamagra jelly and sidagra. The last 2 worked best for me and did not lead to nausea...
That said, is the pharmacy next to bully's still the best place to buy these?
On a different note, anyone know if these pharmacies still sell genuine Valium anymore or are these days long gone?

Lol, and do they also cut your hair there? I've had my share of bad Asian haircuts so maybe a bj would help ease the stress.
I know there are many such "barbershops" in Vietnam, but have never heard of any in Bangkok. -
There may be some small discount to be had, but it's not anywhere near the 30% mark and I doubt that it's truly "duty free" given the usually high prices. Depending on where you're arriving from, I find it's often a better bargain to bring in a bottle or two rather rather than buy it on arrival.

Sounds interesting. Will probably give it a try during my next visit. Thanks for the reply!

Anyone ever stay at http://www.housebythepond.com ? If so, how was it? They have really good monthly rates

From Canada. Nov 12 to ?
Staying for at least a couple of weeks in Bangkok and several months in SEA :D

Never had any problems mailing packages from Thailand and all of them arrived, and pretty quickly too. Prices are also good! The only problem I've ever experienced is mailing postcards from the airport, go figure...

I find Cambodia is a good flight option and prices can be pretty cheap if you book in advance. Granted you do need to buy a visa on arrival, but it's a short flight and if you stick around for at least a few days (or longer) it's definitely worthwhile!

I always ask pharmacy for generic, China or India. and my  always gets to attention.
Kamagra jelly IS generic (from India if I'm not mistaken). If you're referring to generic Xanax (alprazolam), I assume it exists in Thailand but it must be pretty rare and I have never seen it. Both the real and the generic are easy to get and OTC in Cambodia however.
-
if you book through agoda all the extras are free
Yeah, I had seen the same thing. Unless everything is included as seems to be the case on Agoda and Booking, it's a pretty crappy deal though. Extra for towels and aircon in a city like Bangkok is just pure silliness.

How many are there in a box?
(I usually just buy when I go out so 100baht a time for one)
There's 50 in a box.
-
never had a problem with the pharmacy at Foodland,Bought 50 kamagra jells for 2000bht at pharmacy just past Hillary Four heading down the soi
Bought a box of 50 from the pharmacy next to Bully's pub for 1500 next to nana plaza. Time will tell if I got a good deal or if I got screwed. That's also assuming I make it past customs, perhaps I should try one out before taking that chance… ;)

Not a stall opposite Nana mate..their is a small pharmacy just before Nana Hotel Care Park as you walk in from Sukhumvit.Yes xanax is a real pain to get now..only heard about and went to that place a few months ago
Yeah, I got that, thanks! I've brought some back from Cambodia already (the generic is unbelievably cheap there), but will investigate if I pass by again.Stocking up a bit as I won't by back for another 6 months :(
BTW, the pharmacy directly across the street from NEP wanted 2500 baths for a box of a Kamagra Jelly and the one next to Bully's sells it for 'only' 1500. Quite a big difference. Bought the latter of course. Will try to follow-up on quality should anyone like to know!

The one opposite Nana has kamagra jelly. One in patpong has kamagra pills...never remember which is soi 1 or 2 despite being here for 14 years!...it is the one just past Pink Panther. One opposite Penalty spot on Sukumvit near soi 22 has xanax.
Oooh, Xanax would be an additional an unexpected perk! Thank you both for the advice :)
BTW, I saw a guy at a stall near Nana personally wrapping a box of Kamagra jelly yesterday. Did not inspire much confidence.

I hope this is in the right section, but can't find a better one (feel free to move this discussion).
I am basically wanting to bring back a box of Kamagra Jelly, which I know some pharmacies carry or at least used to carry, and perhaps a few other articles that are not as easy to get in Canada. Like most sane person will NOT buy anything from the street.
I've been to the pharmacy next to the gas station/on the entrance to ski Nana side several times. Usually the meds are fine (bought Valium in the past but that seems to have become a no-no), but I was curious as if other pharmacies came more highly recommended, as despite the next-door police station this one is a bit shady (unless selling beer is also a norm for pharmacists in Bangkok)...
Thanks!

I have not, but their location is good and a friend of mine has always enjoyed using their hotel. Per him- clean and decently priced. He lives here, but uses the hotel when he meets someone he isn't interested in bringing to his home and it is very girl friendly according to him.
Cheers for that! I ended up going with the Fenix, but I do agree that the Tune has better location for Soi Cowboy and will keep it in mind next time I'm in town.

The soi is called RCA and it's in Ao Nang. The bar you're referring to is Amy's 69 :) still seems like the best bar and Easy to find (it's the first one on the right). Bf is 300.
There is a little soi of around 10/15 bars opposite macdonalds. There is also a disco I think Anna 69?? More of a place to take a girl tbh but you can score there too if you don't take anyone.

Although it'd kind of obvious, Suk 11 is NOT GF at all and it genuinely does SUCK in every sense of the term...
-
I disagree. Most people are more likely to complain rather than compliment.
One tip is to filter the reviews by "Solo travelers" (not sure of the exact terminology) and the reviews are most likely by mongers.
Suddenly "the disgusting hotel full of prostitutes" becomes "the best hotel on Bangkok"
I couldn't agree more. People will spontaneously write bad reviews when they're pissed, but are less likely to take the time to say how nice a place was. Excellent point about the "solo travelers" option!

Anyone try the Tune Asoke? They have really good deal at the moment and are listed as GF on some sites, but I'm not entirely convinced....
Thnx!

Was wondering if anyone had tried ordering taxis with apps like Uber or easy taxi in Bangkok.
If so, is it worth the trouble? I had never considered it, but saw an ad for easy taxi while stuck in traffic today...
