  1. Follow signs to taxi stand on lowest level. Choose machine for type of trip local, luggage, people. It'll tell you what stall number your taxi is waiting for you at. There can be tolls to sukhumvit area. Usually 75 baht total (2 tolls). If it's early morning I mention no traffic no need tolls, but I leave it up to driver. Sometimes tollway will be faster. There is a legitimate 50 baht surcharge from airport. Total cost with tolls and surcharge and meter usually less than 400 baht to sukhumvit. On the way back to airport a bit after midnight no tolls, no surcharge, cost me less than 300 baht meter. Stay away from the taxi guys inside the airport and use the taxi line and machine outside and you'll save some baht.
  2. I think the one on soi 11 changed from holiday inn to another branded hotel. When I was searching for it last month online I couldn't find it listed. I checked it out on maps and it came up with another brand name.
  3. Yeah, airbnb has been outlawed in NYC as well. Sell your stock if it's not too late.
  4. If you don't mind spending triple what a taxi will cost, then yes by all means, the hotel car service will work fine. Never had a problem with poorly maintained taxis but that can happen. Just make sure the taxi looks good before you take off. Just make sure taxi puts on meter. Some do try a flat rate which is usually more. Still will probably be half what the hotel is looking for.
  5. I took two trips to the airport on the same day with same staring points. First one was cheaper by about 50-100 baht even though there was more traffic. Second trip I just tipped a lot less. I didn't say anything tho. So my out of pocket remains same.
  6. Thanks for that. I will be checking them out. I'll also ask at the hotel I'll be coming back to from chiang mai.
  7. I'm going to be traveling from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and the flight has a 15 kg limit for baggage. I was wondering if anyone has used some baggage storage service in Bangkok before. Perhaps even an alternative way of leaving behind some unnecessary things or souvenirs I won't be needing in Chiang Mai but will want for my return home.
  8. Any more info about this? Name, address, price breakdown? Would be helpful. On nut is not far from where I'll be. Thanks.
  9. I think he's referring to Patrick's Fashionway on soi 11 next to the 7/11 opposite the Ambassador hotel. Bought many suits there over the years and continue to go back. I've never bought just shirts there but last time I was there I think the going rate was $20. My shirts are alway part of my suit purchase. You choose the fabric and the pattern. Your fabric choice will probably affect prices. The owners last name is Patrick but if you ask for Patrick, the sales person, usually a family member, will gladly cop to the name. ????
  10. I don't go to hooters for the grub and I don't go to Thailand to eat lousy USA food. I'll definitely be giving this place a pass. Unless the servers are bar fineable. If they are, you buried the lead! .
  11. Anyone know current prices? 800 baht from two years ago seems quite low. Bangkok November 2014 I was paying 1500-2000 LT for FL.
  12. The pool at grand president is much nicer. They have two pools. Both are roof top pools. Tower 1 is a building away from the ambassador aviary FYI.
  13. Nice tip. Metered taxi cost me 225 baht no tolls and no tip. Usually ends up at 350 with tip and tolls. Same price from either royal or grand, been to both.
  14. I have no personal experience with this lab clinic in Bangkok, but personally know others who do and they recommend. It's a small storefront clinic on a cul de sac off of soi 11 behind the 7/11 opposite the ambassador hotel. You can check to see if they will do the tests for you there. Also heard of a clinic near cabbages and condoms restaurant but not sure if they only do STD tests or not.
  15. What's the cost of the checkup at sametiev? Is it a government hospital? If not, can you recommend a government hospital that offers these testing services?
  16. Should be about 350 with tolls and 50 baht added airport fee. Last time this past fall trips cost me less than that to soi 11 which is close to landmark.
  17. I used them in 2013 and 2014 so that would be after the rebranding took place. Article reads as if they rebranded, not changed management. Like price club becoming Costco. Or Kentucky fried chicken becoming KFC, or royal crown cola becoming RC cola.
  18. When did royal president change management? I stayed at both and last time they were both branded as KH properties.
  19. I always get them to use the meter. Fare is less than 300 and tolls if they take toll road is 70 Last trip back to airport from soi 11 sukhumvit was less than 300 with tip no tolls.
  20. I bought kamagra off the street 1 envelope. I think I paid 50 baht. And I think a box of 50 was 1200-1500 baht. I think it did what it was supposed to do. I didn't cum but that could've been something else. I don't like medications and that was the first and only time I used any. Last time I tried a natural helper from a Chinese doctor that was a bit pricey. Tried it twice. First time didn't notice much. 2nd time I increased by 50% the dosage, still within recommended guidelines, and was happy with results.
  21. Sorry can't help you with hotel info, but I would advise you to find a good hypnotist to help you with your problem. My cousin was cured of a similar fear using this service.
  22. I stayed there many years ago, before climax, and they did charge joiner fee. I have heard they no longer do that, but have also read that it's up to security at the time, kind of like police looking to make some extra money. What other BM says about collecting policy in writing and bringing with you makes sense.
  23. So they have stated policy on form for companion fee. But did they follow thru and charge you for bringing a girl back to your room?
  24. Taxi should take you right to front door of your hotel. Should be up to you if you want to get out early.
  25. Send them emails asking them if they charge a joiner or guest fee. Or if you're pressed for time call them.
