Mermaid Hotel

Hi All.

 

Just planning my next trip for maybe March and was wondering if any members had experience of the Mermaid Hotel on Soi 29?

Last time I stayed in Park Plaza on Soi 18 and would prefer to be towards Cowboy again.

I stay there every time I come to town. The corner suite rooms are nice, as is the pool area. They don't ask for girls ID cards, which could be seen as a plus or negative. Equal distance walk from Asok or Phom Phrong BTS. 7/11 right around the corner, and laundry across Suk on soi 22.

Checked reviews on tripadvisor and  seems a decent place. Last time I was in LOS I stayed on soi18 in Park Plaza which was good. Got a decent price on this which was over £300 cheaper though!

The basic rooms aren't worth the money IMO, but the deluxe ones (or whatever they're called) were nice. The pool is pretty small and crappy and was filled with loud drunk russians (maybe I was just unlucky) but if it's not one of your main criteria then it's not a bad option :)

 

Edit: Thought this was a slightly more recent post, so perhaps you stayed already. If so, please share your impressions as other BM may be wondering the same, cheers!

Thanks for the info.

Not stayed yet but I'll be there in just under 3 weeks.

Pool not at top of criteria..Might only pop there once or twice over 2 weeks.

Fortunately I upgraded to the deluxe rooms so hopefully I should be ok. Will post a review when I'm back.

Stayed there several days on my last trip. Staff was nice and room was bigger than expected. I want to try one of their corner rooms though.
