Thai_Lover
I stayed at the Metropolitan for a week back in June 2008 and it was fantastic. Infact I had made a trip to Bangkok this January as well, however, stayed at Banyan Tree. If given a choice, I would definitely choose metropolitan, its new and its great. The rooms are fantastic, with huge comfortable beds, built-in sofas, coffee table, with fruit, well stocked mini bar, WIFI, large LCD T.V. and D.V.D. player makes this place complete. The hotel facilities are very good, Great gym/fitness room with resistance machines, free weights and cardiovascular machines. Amazing spa and great outdoor swimming pool. There are two restaurants- Glow, which is outside the spa, serves healthy food and gorgeous smoothies/fruit infusions, and Cy'an is on the ground floor, which serves the most amazing breakfast - mouthwatering. The staff are very polite, they are really fantastic and utterly competent. The Met Bar is excellent, really cool and chic, very upbeat music playing with a D.J once or twice a week who when I was there way playing really cool, soulful tracks. The Mojotos are the best I have tasted, and the cocktail menu as a whole is awesome as are the cocktail mixologists/ barman who make them. I would recommend the Metropolitan Bangkok for everyone.
