prak
Looking for some advice on an apartment/condo/house rental for a few months starting around July. I've stayed long-term before at various serviced apartments and hotels, but this trip I plan to do a "working vacation" for 2-6 months and I'd like a more permanent home-base from which I can do some work. My wish-list is below, if anybody has any specific recommendations or just advice on where/how to look, I would greatly appreciate it. 1) MUST HAVE good internet. This trumps all other requirements. I know I can't expect actually "good" internet anywhere in Thailand, but I will need some reasonable connection to be able to work remotely, so I'd be willing to compromise or throw out everything else for this one. 2) Location can be anywhere - except I'd like to stay away from nightlife areas, as I'll be staying with my GF. Of course the closer to BTS or MRT the better, but OK if its out in the suburbs. Honestly, I wouldn't mind any location in the whole of Thailand, as long as it has internet. 3) Air conditioned (of course), one or more separate bedrooms, some kind of kitchen. 4) Would like to keep it around 30k/month, but willing to move up if that's too low, or for the right place. Would be nice if I didn't have to sign-on for the entire 6 months up-front, since I need to be sure I'll be able to get some work done there, otherwise have to go back home after two months. I've searched quite a bit on the online apartment finders, but its really hard to tell what you're getting on most of them, and it seems like they tack on a pretty hefty commission for themselves I'm guessing. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thanks in advance for any advice. 30k would get you all you need depending on the area you wish to live. I could recommend Ekkamai and Thong Lor which are very popular areas with expats and you should get what you want inside your budget there. To get the best deals use the THAI Online agencies - NOT the farang ones. They can be anything up to 50% cheaper for the same type of apartments. 9Apartment has a good rep and although you may need some help with the Thai you can see the lower prices quite clearly. pilotpete
So after almost 2 years from last post in this thread i would like to ask how is the situation with monthly rental right now? Is http://en.9apartment.com/ still good? Because prices are very attractive in my opinion. Thanks in advance! :-)
