Buying azithromycin and doxycycline?

I picked up some doxycycline 100mg from Boots, a 10 capsule foil pack went for B100.  Some smaller pharmacies are a bit cheaper.  No prescription needed.  I actually did have a sore throat but not from carpet munching.  The lady at boots wanted to sell me a Zpack for B300 instead, she was insistent that it was much better at clearing up a bacterial throat infection than doxycycline.  We debated the merits of broad spectrum antibiotics (doxycycline) versus something that is specifically used to treat strep or tonsillitis. Allergies made doxycycline the better choice for me.

Thanks for the heads-up, didn't know boots had Z packs. Had some from America before but used em up.

Got Azithromycin from a pharmacy around Asoke BTS. Biggest pharmacy I've found, though, is right off Soi nana, next to the Mcdonald's/7-11/gas station. Huge selection and open late.

From what I understand Boots is very expensive. The pharmacy in Nana mentioned above is the one I use. Sure to have both Zpack and doxy.

Cheers,

Mark

Update 8/5/13

Went to the pharmacy near nana around 2am. The large one was closed so I went to the smaller one closer to macdonalds.

Asked for Zpack- they didn't have but had various similar options. I got Azycin 6 caps 250mg Azithromycin. Cost, 150 baht

Asked for Imitrex (migraine med) they had Imigran 50 mg sumatriptan 2 tablets. 300 baht.

Asked for Apcalis (Thai brand cialis) they had real cialis (2,000 baht) and Sidegra, Sildenafil (Viagra) 100mg 4 tablets 180 baht. I opted for the cheap one and will try it out.
