I was also pretty sure these things rarely happen in Thailand, but heard more and more stories about this in recent years.

Luckily I barely wear any jewelry, besides a nice watch. But always good to stay alert.

 

Besides this, I still consider Bangkok to be top 3 safest cities when it comes to cities this size.

Never felt unsafe, even walking alone in a dark alley at 3am.
