  1. I normally buy the BTS one day pass and travel up and down as any times I want.To me looking at the beautiful Thai girls on the train itself is fun!!!

This is so true man. Amazing how your everyday Thai girls on the BTS are so good looking!
  2. After thinking long and hard(Yes...my head hurts!),and extensive research on other forums,I've come to the conclusion that the best way to go is to take the airport link to Makkasan, and get a taxi from there to Asoke(Where the condo.where I'm staying is).

On the taxi side you save the 50baht airport surcharge and don't have to pay the hi-way tolls. From Makkasan to Sukhumvit ,it's only a 5 minute taxi ride.

Taking your luggage to the airport link is the same distance(If not closer)as going to the taxi stand.

No problems with airport taxi drivers, either!

    Food for thought

Sounds like a good idea as long as u dont have too many heavy luggage to carry on to the airport link.

  3. Hi all. Just wondering if anyone has stayed at a hotel called the Sivatel. It located near Ploen Chit station across the road from the British embassy and close (I think) to MBK.

I have booked a 2 bedroom suite, going with a mate. The booking sya it is for a maximum of 4 people. does this mean they will be ok if we bring a couple of girls back to the room ?

Also wondering how far from soi Cowboy and Nanna this hotel is. It seems Nanna is only one stop away on the sky train but I was wondering how long it would take to walk if I wanted to.

    Any info is appreciated.

    Cheers.

Yes Nana is one stop away (walk bout 10min) & Soi Cowboy two stops away .

  4. Agoda is great, I have booked hotels down Soi 8 for about $40 (AUD) per night which is fair budget. One is an apartment with kitchen. These kind of prices are available for NEXT NIGHT, so don't ever walk into a hotel to book a room, just use the Net even the day before you need a room. Agoda is approx 50% of walk-in price.

Soi 8 is as central as you can get in Suk IMO.

The homepage search engine is the best, you can click for Suk, pool, star rating, and it tells you how many results you will get before you click - makes narrowing down what you want a breeze.

Watch out for the taxes on Agoda though, they sting you about 20% on top of the advertised price, that can hurt :o

if that's the case, booking.com is better than Agoda. No extra fees.

I used booking.com to book my hotels in BKK n Pattaya back in July n it's a good site.

  5. Many stalls along Sukhumvit Road sell Viagra, Cialis, and other "brands" of pills. Has anyone tried these and are they similar to the genuine articles. That is do they work ok?

Yea I saw them when I was there in July n was wondering the same thing too.

Not that I needed them, just curious.

  6. I stayed here last month. Most of the important stuff about this hotel has been said in this thread. I just wanted to add that using the internet in the lobby is 30B for 30min. If u book for 1 hour, it's 50B. I thought I could find cheaper internet outside the hotel like a cybercafe but there weren't much choices and the ones I found had pretty much the same rate as the hotel.
