  1. I did hit the Smoking Pug on 20 when I was in town - very nice brisket; a but underseasoned but delicious.
  2. We had really great ribs at the Smokin’ Pug on soi 20 a few days back. It begins to get busy past 8 but highly recommended. Excellent brisket as well!
  3. Was going to suggest this - and their margaritas are enjoyably potent. They’re on a side soi (17) just off of Soi 19, the road next to Terminal 21. IIRC, they’re the first left past the Robinsons blok.
  4. Quite true, but I always do get the drip over the milkshakes since I actually like the bitter taste of coffee. On that note, EmSphere has Thailand’s only Starbucks Reserve, where you can choose the bean mix, they’ll grind it fresh and brew it for your drink - all on a per-cup scale. Was very impressed with how it all worked for customized coffees. Back to Breakfast: Breakfast Story on 11 was good, but I actually preferred Margarita Storm’s breakfast burrito over many other forms. It’s always available, even into lunch or dinner hours, and it’s also the best late-night, sober-up food in town.
  5. Not sure when you’re coming, but I’m booked into it for a week on the last weekend of January. I heard tell in other websites that it’s just as you said - clean, not fancy but comfortable and very quiet, which was my biggest concern. (I wanted to be in the middle of the action on 11, my old stomping ground from 15 years back.) Here’s a recent YouTube (in Thai) that shows a standard room. If you want the area but fancier, the Aira on further up the street looks fancier at only 40-50% more (pity I’m so cheap…). I’ll give a better assessment when I get there.
