The Landmark is probably a nicer hotel, but I did not want to pay the price premium. The difference in price is about my daily drinking allowance. 😁

that's fair. To be honest, I'm not seeing a big difference between Landmark and Adelphi from pictures and some reviews. Maybe they provide a bit more service?

last februari I stayed at the Citrus Suites on soi 6. It was really nice, but I understand that Adelphi is even nicer. And also pretty close tot Nana. And If you walk from Adelphi to Nana plaza you walk passed Lolitas, Kasalong and Analisa 😁👍.

good stuff! Did you look at Landmark at all? I'm between Landmark and Adelphi and can't decide which to go with

    The Sofitel is great.

Booking at the hotel in person will be the most expensive option. I would always book direct online with Accor (Sofitel is part of "Accor" hotel group). Sign up for Accor's member program (It called Accor Live Limitless - really stupid name), and you get extra rebate. (plus you can earn hotel points or airline miles for the stay).

Normally, you can also get 15% cashback from Qudico or Topcashback or similar sites. If a 3rd party site has a better rate, Accor will match it (and give a further rebate). From time to is also a special "MasterCard" or "Visa"-rebate (or other promotions, its hard to keep track) - normally 20%+ off - sometimes with free breakfest - they come and go. I got 20% from a "MasterCard rate" on my last stay - no special card needed, i'm not sure you even needed a MasterCard. Just goolge "Accor Thailand offers 2023". New onc seems to pop up every month.

thanks for the info, will definitely book before hand then, didn't know there was a big discrepancy booking online ahead of time vs in person.

While I've stayed here several times and can highly recommend it for being super convenient and girl friendly, I'm not sure that it would qualify for 4 or 5 stars - mostly due to the lack of services provided at that tier.  Overall though the room is great and spacious and the staff never bothered me.

which services do you think they lack? I'm considering Landmark vs Adelphi, can't make up my mind.

Fraser suites soi 11 is very nice. Big apartment rooms. Nice vibe. I am at Adelphi suites now. It’s close to everything and a large apartment set up.

how'd you find Adelphi suites? did you like it? any negatives?

May I ask what you paid? I booked 1 X Studio met Kingsize bed for 33000 bht for 12 nights. I have to pay before juli 30th so maybe with the exchange rates my price in euro's will come down some more. At the moment 33000bth is about €875.

Looking for a hotel in Bangkok right now as well, what made you go with Adelphi?

I’d say the Landmark is a 4.5 star hotel the rooms are fine I’ve taken many a girl back without any issues. Not as swanky as a 5 star hotel like Sofitel or Hyatt Regency but you’ll struggle to get one of those for under 5000B a night. Landmark is a perfect location for Soi 4 / Soi 7 / Nana Plaza and only a short tuk tuk from Soi Cowboy so no girl will insist on a ST hotel.

Never used a ST hotel so can’t answer that bit!

Had a look at Landmark and it looks pretty good, especially for the price. Super convenient, only couple mins away from nana plaza and google map says 15 mins from Soi Cowboy. I'm assuming taking a tuk tuk driver instead would probably be super cheap?

I'm starting to lean towards to just bringing the girls to my hotel as it seems like others haven't had a lot of issue with it. Does Landmark check IDs or can you just walk pass reception? And lastly, did you book directly with the hotel or did you use another site to book with?

And what do you think the price difference is booking online vs in person? Only reason I'm asking is that I have 2 weeks in Thailand, and I can't make up my mind on how long to stay in Bangkok vs Pattaya. Initially I was thinking of splitting it in half, but if Pattaya turns out worst than Bangkok, and I've already booked my 7 day hotel stay, then I guess I'm kinda stuck.

    1) I always book in advance

    2) Depends on your budget? I normally stay at the Landmark which is about 4000B a night but there’s other nearby hotels cheaper like Nana hotel & Majestic Suites

    3) I’ve always taken back to my hotel but then I’ve always stayed nearby. So long as you are within a 5-10 min walk or short TukTuk away you’ll be fine. If you were a bit further out the girl may prefer a ST hotel.

    4) I guess a nickname would be ok but I’ve never booked online escorts to my hotel before.

thanks for taking your time answering these questions! really appreciate it. Just to follow up.

My budget for hotel is about ~5000 baht or less. Would you say Landmark is convenient and for that price, are the rooms generally nice? I've read some posts on here about "run down/old" hotel with bugs, etc which I want to avoid. Since you've taken them back to your hotel, I'm assuming Landmark is pretty guest friendly. And lastly, what are these ST hotels? Is it like Nana hotel or are there other nearby ST hotels

This shows the pool area.  I like the lagoon motif but the irregular L shape of the pool made swimming awkward. These photos were taken in 2021.

very nice pool, I see what they meant by instagram worthy. Is it quite busy and are there a lot of people by the pool?

I stayed in Majestic Suites in December 2021. I would not call it a dump but you get what you pay for. It is at the bottom end of the market, same price range as Nana hotel. For me the key selling points were location, literally round the corner from Nana, and price.  The hotel was basic, clean and if I was sharing with any bugs they were very discreet as our paths never crossed.  The staff were friendly and helpful and security took guest ID’s. The breakfast was menu rather than buffet with about half a dozen choices and, for me, a disappointment as I like a big breakfast, Photos are from that visit,

    thanks for sharing the pictures.

For those with a bigger budget, any 5 star hotel recommendations that are guest friendly and decently convenient?

  11. Have several questions below that I would appreciate any advice on.

    1. Should I book a hotel before hand or book one when I land there? Are the prices higher if I book in person?

    2. Which hotels would you recommend? I'm thinking of something close to Nana but not too close. Don't want to be in any shady hotels. Want something nice that is guest friendly.

    3. What is everyones thoughts on bringing girls from gogo bars to your own hotel for ST? I've read on here that it might be best to just go to a ST hotel nearby Nana, I guess for safety? I'm someone that can't sleep with others so I don't plan on any LT. Is it best just to do ST to nearby hotels by nana that specialize in this?

    4. Lastly, does any have any experience with escorts? Do they require your full name before agreeing to come? I usually go by my nickname, but do they need your real name for the hotel to ring them up?

Sorry for the long list of questions, but this forum has been so useful so wanted to get everyones opinion.

So the last time I visited in May, it was for 7 days and there was one rain shower in that time. A really heavy shower, for about one hour. That was it. I seem to remember sheltering in Hillary 2 😀

    7 days? that's quite a bit..
