Taking a red-eye flight 12AM friday from USA be in BKK 11am Saturday staying till I head out to Pattaya on the 19th for about a week before coming back to before flying back home on the 29th
Can't wait to be balls deep in some Thai pussy or throat as soon as I step foot on LOS soil
I got bored with the US, so I know this feeling. Thailand is your (and my) buffet. Safe travels to all

Looking to spend the last week of Oct in BKK. First trip to LOS but may be mongering trip # 649.
Per my dear friend, Google…Oct 23 and 24 are public holidays..Are these dry days for a monger?
Looks like alcohol is OK, only government offices are closed https://www.huahintoday.com/thailand-news/october-sees-alcohol-ban-public-holidays-and-immigration-office-closures-in-thailand/

Because once the website realises your IP address, it raises prices for stuff you have recently looked at. Using a VPN stops this. I use stuff like booking.com and Skyscanner regularly and have seen this happen many times.
Agoda seems to raise the price almost immediately after viewing just once. thanks, I'll give this a shot

Does Agoda drive anyone else crazy? It seems like the prices for the same room and same dates changes every 10 minutes. I've been using TripAdvisor as an aggregator, but wondering if there are better sites out there to use.

That's terrifying!! Only public transit could have saved you... so much for urban planning

I'm not in LOS yet either. I registered an account with my e-mail address and local number, but will change the phone number and register my credit card once I land in Bangkok. I've read in other forums that this method works fine.
Anyhow it'll get sorted once you land.

Thanks for the contributions. I have a date with a non-Thai girl coming up but will still use these as reference!

Thanks guys. Sounds like a huge improvement over the last couple years, but now I know what to expect

@ttiThank you! Really appreciate your knowledge on this. Looking forward to chowing down

@ilikeredheadsappreciate the review, my friend. I'm choosing between a few hotels for my stay, and your level of detail really helps

jay fai cannot be booked atm because the venue doesnt allow reservations and only has seats for walk-in ...not sure where youve heard its already booked. as of recent theres a service run by some college students called hewtamsang (look them up on IG). people will literally wake up at whatever time it is, get a ticket, wait in line for you, and update you on progress, eta, etc so you never have to leave the comfort of your home until its time to eat. Cost is about 1000bhat per table reservation (seats upto 6?) i believe but is variable depending on what time you want to eat (peak dining times = cost more). if you have money and dont care id suggest this method, the alternative is to wake up god awful early and get a ticket and come abck (hoping you dont miss your number being called, otherwise you go straight to the back of the line which means you probably wont eat there that day)
otherwise I suggest Khao in Ekkamai if you want upscale thai food. they also have 1 michelin star and price is comparable. venue is nice and quite easy to get a table
Thank you! I'll take a look at Khao instead. I was looking at Chope for Jay Fai reservations. I guess they're not taking reservations (rather than being full as I assumed). Regardless, waiting in line sounds like time better spent elsewhere!!

been a few times with reservations precovid so there was no real wait. the food is definitely really good but the price is high. i would say that you can get similar things for a lower price but they arent quite the same. i'll probably go back at some point or another. if you havent been id recommend you swing by if you can shoulder the cost, she wont be cooking forever.
Are there any specific alternative places that you'd recommend? Jay Fai is already booked up for my dates, and I unfortunately won't be in town for long...

How are the clubs lately? I'm assuming nightlife is back up to 100%.

I e-mailed Grab to have them delete the phone number associated with my account, and then created a new account with the same e-mail address. They're pretty responsive.

Looking forward to hearing some stories! I'm taking my first solo trip soon too

Heading to Bangkok for a quick trip October 29-November 1. Looking to get my feet wet as I'm just a newbie to the whole scene. Hoping that I like the bars, clubs, and everything else that the city has to offer!

Thanks for the review, sounds like Landmark is still as good as its reputation. Need more biz trips to Bangkok!
