Is there any interest in doing a newbie night meetup in NEP?
We could get a small group of veterans and newbies together and crawl the NEP go-go's. It would be a good opportunity to meet like minded people and learn some tips. We could meet at one of the open bars on the ground floor just before the go-go's open and then hop from go-go to go-go together. Even with just a few people, it should be fun.
Please post below if you think this is something I should try to organize. If there's interest, we could do this as early as this weekend or next week.

It has been awhile (pre-covid) that I was there but if I remember correctly Niagara hotel has short-time rooms for 300 Baht
Thanks for the suggestion. Next time I'm in the area I'll check it out and post the new prices.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a short time hotel in the Patpong area? I used the Strand Inn the other day and it was 600 baht. The room was nice for a ST place, but the price is too high.

Superbowl 2022 is on Feb 14 at 0630 am, right?

He Clinic in Thong Lor is another one to consider. https://heclinics.com/
They tend to be pricey.

I've used 14 Place Sukhumvit Suites. It's just off of Asoke BTS. Far enough off the main road that it is quiet. Good sized apartments with all the amenities. Good internet. Close enough to walk a lady (or two) from Soi Cowboy for ST.

I wish we could offer you better advice, but the truth is that nobody knows. The most recent outbreak has made the situation even less clear. For example, Phuket opening for vaccinated tourists will only happen if they can vaccinate 70% of island residents which seems unlikely.
Try posting this topic on PA. There are a lot of bar owners on that forum who might have better information.

if i remember correctly the tmobile/sprint is only 2G when roaming internationally which should be fine for Maps.
This is the problem with using international roaming plans. You'll often get put on the slowest network available.
I have a dual-sim phone and I highly recommend it. Being able to receive SMS messages from your bank to verify your identification when trying to unlock your debit card is a life saver. And having a local sim card gives you access to faster data networks.

That's great. Hopefully there's enough interest that we can do a regular meetup so whenever you're coming they'll be something to do.
