I'd suggest checking the Hotel & Accommodation threads to see what people have said about various hotels. Many include pics and detailed reviews. Much better than u get at other sites. Aside from that I've heard good things about Citrus Suites 13, Citrus Suites 6, and Phachara Suites although the latter is a bit more expensive. The hotel you chose seems to have average reviews, with many negative and positive, mostly noting the dated interior. Tbh I chose Citrus 6 but that was after a lot of research and reading reviews on this site, google, and trip advisor. Many things to consider including age/room quality, typical customers (avoid lots of chinese and arab tourists), breakfast quality, pool or no, price and customer service. You get what you pay for....
