  1. some looking for LTR are indeed looking like they’re looking for LTR (hint: the older, fatter, studious looking, etc ones); i tend to stay clear of those, and just start a chat with those i fancy, LTR or not; once you have some report with them, LTR can become FL pretty quick; it might still require a drink, to test the waters, but that is fine imho
  2. get some cash at ATM in airport taxi-meter to hotel in lower Sukhumvit, enjoying the ride and the feel of ‘home-coming’ to familiar environs i hardly ever sleep on the flight from Europe, so getting some rest is premium: powernap! for a few hours after powernap, run some errands at the nearest 711 depending on arrival time, if early, up my BTS-card, get simcard a swim in the hotelpool and/or that first Chang … my holiday just started YAY! dinner at a nearby Thai restaurant do the rounds at Nana, taking it slowly, with the intention of an early sleep; this somehow fails most of the time, so yeah, enjoying that first night in the gogos, seeing old acquaintances, that first night is always like being back in some wonderland! it sure and always feels good to be back!
  3. I’ve stayed at this hotel for about the past 10 year; I like it for 3 reasons: big, comfy, quiet rooms; location; big pool (fairly quiet too, maybe because it is lacking in some ambiance, but that is fine with me; just do some laps, then chill on a deckchair checking out BA and nursing a Chang ;)) never brought more than 1 guest in, so i can’t say anything about that (bringing in more than 1 that is); i believe i read somewhere that minimum age of guests now has to be 21 some quibbles: breakfast indoor is in a small and chilly room, or outside; after the renovation some years ago it just lacks ambiance; breakfast is by menu, no buffet, and it is rather mediocre; but there are better (and cheaper) options nearby, such as Swan on the corner of soi 6 and 4; taximaffia in full swing here, and the soi is one direction only and can get busy (i.e. trafficjam) and it is hard getting a normal taxi, or grab, here (but this is usually only an issue when having to get to the airport; the desk will call a taxi for you, but it may take some time); otherwise, for grab, just have it come to Sukhumvit rd, or just take the BTS (Nana, out of soi 6) I’ve stayed at a few other hotels in the area (Dawin (fine, but small rooms (they have bigger, but more expensive rooms (than DG)), small pool), Petals Inn (meh) and am curious about Pachara Suites (just across from DG), Citrus (almost next to DG) and Novotel (soi 4).
  4. Yes, they have in-room safes (stayed there a couple of times); in fact, their website says so too ...
