The room (standard) is open plan style, only the wash basin and bath are on view, the toilet and shower are two seperate enclosures with frosted glass doors for privacy, that said, and if I remember rightly there was a sliding partition that made the bathroom completely private, all was fine for me and was happy enough to leave the partition open. -

If you're weary about your room being cleaned then perhaps you will become WARY of this and clean it yourself :D

Sofitel is a brilliant choice, club access worthwhile too at Sofitel Give any airport transfer by any hotel a miss though, expensive and easy to go by public taxi from ground floor level at the airport, believe me it's not troublesome at all. Like falling off a log.

I stayed at the Movenpick when it first opened a few years ago. IMO very average and nothing to rave about, Sofitel is vastly superior to Movenpick - not even in the same league Pullman, never stayed there and likewise for Mercure, if it's the Mercure on Soi 11 you're referring to I'd hazard a guess that it's better than Movenpick

Budget hotel in that area, Dawin would be my pick

Hotel as nice as the land mark
slalom replied to Shadowman2013's topic in Hotels & Accommodations in Bangkok
Wow A very well known hotel that charge's joiner fee's (or used to) also in a not very nice area Try Novotel Ploenchit or Majestic Grande soi 2 Only problem is this Landmark is a 5* hotel, but more 4.5* IMHO. In the immediate area all 5* hotels are more expensive than Landmark You will need to lower your sights if you want cheaper than Landmark, good 4* hotels in the area besides Novotel and Majestic Grande Solitaire soi 13 Mercure soi 11 Dream soi 15 Dream is also classed as 5* but again more 4.5* -

Solitaire Bangkok vs Kingston Suite
slalom replied to Kandawsonbkk's topic in Hotels & Accommodations in Bangkok
Don't know about Kingston, only that it's on soi 15 LHS from Suk Rd just past the Dream Hotel Solitaire, I was there May 2018 and it's very nice, I think it was actually President Solitaire previously and has been fully renovated, I had the club room, very good but not worth paying for club amenities because very little food was available and limited choice of drinks. Breakfast was good. Location, not actually on soi 11 but soi 13 about 100 metres from Insanity club on soi 11. Guest friendly indeed, well at least for one girl, I never took more than one back at a time. Sorry I'm wrong, wasn't President Solitaire previously because that's now Mercure soi 11 It was certainly some President or other. Right chap's now done my homework. I was actually correct the first time around Solitaire was formerly President Solitaire Mercure soi 11 was formerly President Palace -

Have a look at the new hotel on Soi 11, Solitaire. I'm there in two weeks. G/F because I emailed them before booking
