You need to extend it before the time is up
That works well for me, by the time I arrive in BKK, that will be the 14th day of use
I assume there is a DTAC shop in T21 were I can update the SIM
Thanks for all your help expot

Bare with me expot, as you may think you're talking to a small child
Quote599 is only for 15 days. So you would need 599 + 599 + 500 = 1698 THB = 69 AUD
Lets say I chose this option
When paying the 2nd lot of 599, do I keep the same number or do they give me another number and the phone call credit just gets rolled over
Like I said, I don't care how much data I get, for me its all about making phone calls
I'm going to Thailand for the ladies, not to surf the net
-
So its 599 Baht for the card and if I whack another say 500 Baht for calls (works out to about 83 minutes) it should cost me a total of 1099 Baht, this is using DTAC as an example
Does that sound like the right way to go about it
I had another way of setting up my phone overseas, it cost $25 AUD for the SIM and I added another $50 AUD for calls, but they don't offer this service anymore in Australia
-
What's a good sim card that's more phone call friendly than data friendly
How much data comes with a plan is a bonus, for me the most important thing is I need to be making phone calls back to Australia on a regular basis
About 100 minutes and 30 days should be sufficient
Please advise

Just an quick update
I've cancelled this booking, as the OZ government has extended the bio emergency border closure to June 17
That was the around the time I was looking to check in
I'm now thinking of trying to get to Thailand in mid 2022

Hi Lads
Anyone ever stay at Tints of Blue???
I made the reservation for mid June 2021, fingers crossed I can actually make it
As I booked it with booking.com, as long as I cancel 24 hours before my arrival date, I don't lose out financially
I'm paying $40 AUD per night which includes breakfast and its located on Soi 27

Firstly, I'm hoping :Liverpool finish top of their group, as that would mean, most likely, they will play their round of 16 game in March
Secondly, I hope they get scheduled on Mar 10 or 11, as from Liverpool I would get a train on the 12th for Glasgow
-
My football schedule looks like this so far
- Feb 22/23 - Liverpool v West Ham
- Feb 29 - Real Madrid v Barca (with the caveat, I'm unlikely to find a ticket for under 500 Euros, I know this from my previous experience in 2016 when I was in Barcelona for Barca v Real)
- Mar 7/8 - Liverpool v Bournemouth
- Mar 14/15 - Rangers v Celtic
I have the following 3 pockets of dates pending, as I'm waiting for the Champions League to finish the group stage, before I complete my football schedule
Feb 25/26, Mar 10/11 & Mar 17/18
Altogether, I'll be watching 4 league games (most likely 3 league games) and 3 Champions League round of 16 games
-
I'm in town from Feb 15 to 20
From BKK, I then head over to Europe for the football
I've got my league games sorted out, but I'm waiting for the group stage of the Champions League to finish, so I can plot the remaining pockets left outstanding in my schedule

I arrive in Thailand on March 18, so the election might have just taken place or just about too
I don't drink, so Thailand being "dry" on election day, has no impact on me
One trip I remember, I arrived on election day (year Yingluck was elected) headed over to Tulips and it was business as usual,
You wouldn't have know there was an election on...

I just miss you Kernow
- 18th to 22nd in BKK
- 22nd to 24th in Koh Lanta (to re charge the batteries)
- 25th to 29 in Pattaya
-
That's why you paid 30 and I paid 50
Also, I think they charge a little extra for a room with a balcony, as opposed to those rooms without...

@lychee4u
When I made my booking in Sept 17 for Nov 17, that was the best price I could get, but it did include breakfast
Was breakfast included in your rate and when did you book for, I think you meant to type Oct 17???

@ toonboy
I didn't take any pictures of the hotel, but below is a website to the Sawasdee group
Click on the Sukhumvit Area tab for the Sawasdee hotel on Soi 8

I didn't notice a review on this hotel, so I thought I write one up
On my most recent trip (Nov 2017) I stayed at Sawasdee Hotel for 4 nights on Soi 8
I usually stay at Citadines 8, when I travel to BKK, but it was full on my dates
These hotels are separated by about 50 meters, as I like the neighbourhood, its quite and only about 300 from Suk Rd
I enjoyed my stay at Sawasdee
The bed was fine, it had a balcony and the bathroom area was clean
Also, it was nice to get a decent breakfast, buffet style, compared to the Citidanes breakfast which is poor
I paid $50 AUD per night and I guess the main reason BMs are reading this is to learn whether it is GF, the answer is YES
Would I repeat, again the answer is yes
My rating = 7.5/10 (Citadines gets a 7, as I mentioned, half a mark off because of the poor breakfast)
