Any issues with noise Absolute44 or only if you luck out with a lower floor btw, how much did you pay I'm seeing the superior room for $39 AUD per night, no breakfast
-
Thanks bgtp I wasn't thinking about if they were P4P bars, just wandering about the noise levels I'm an early sleeper (in bed by midnight) as I like to do my shopping early😝
-
Has anyone stayed here recently??? I was looking to pull the trigger, but in quite a few of the reviews they mention noise until the early hours from "bars" This place in located on a sub soi of soi 20, I didn't realize there was a bar area in this location Any of the expat guys here who know this area can confirm this is a bar area

I'll answer my own question about the 6 nights I just spent at Retro 39 Although I did mention it included breakfast, it didn't You had to order the night before to arrange which option you wanted and at what time After less than 5 mins, I had to go back to reception and ask if they gave me the right room I booked a "suite" room, which looked nothing like the pictures on booking.com and even the reception guy admitted the pictures were a few years old The TV only had 10 channels, granted you're not there to watch TV, but to take a bit of a break from exploring the city, it didn't end much of a break Also, there seemed to be a look of hangers on lurking in the reception area, which made me distrustful of anyone I came into contact with The only positives are It was quite Close to the FS massage shops in Soi 24, 24/1 & 26 50 meters from Phrom Phong BTS Weed shop & 7/11 either side of the hotel (I don't recommend the weed shop) Didn't ask if they were GF, as I didn't bring any back as I spent most of my time on Soi 24, 24/1 & 26 Overall, I would rate this place 3 out of 5 and I wouldn't recommend Retro 39

I too am also looking for this kind of information, that's why I started the thread I don't arrive there until the end of May, so it'll be quite a while until I can rely this information dodi44

That works well for me, by the time I arrive in BKK, that will be the 14th day of use I assume there is a DTAC shop in T21 were I can update the SIM Thanks for all your help expot
-
Bare with me expot, as you may think you're talking to a small child Lets say I chose this option When paying the 2nd lot of 599, do I keep the same number or do they give me another number and the phone call credit just gets rolled over Like I said, I don't care how much data I get, for me its all about making phone calls I'm going to Thailand for the ladies, not to surf the net
-
So its 599 Baht for the card and if I whack another say 500 Baht for calls (works out to about 83 minutes) it should cost me a total of 1099 Baht, this is using DTAC as an example Does that sound like the right way to go about it I had another way of setting up my phone overseas, it cost $25 AUD for the SIM and I added another $50 AUD for calls, but they don't offer this service anymore in Australia
-
What's a good sim card that's more phone call friendly than data friendly How much data comes with a plan is a bonus, for me the most important thing is I need to be making phone calls back to Australia on a regular basis About 100 minutes and 30 days should be sufficient Please advise

Just an quick update I've cancelled this booking, as the OZ government has extended the bio emergency border closure to June 17 That was the around the time I was looking to check in I'm now thinking of trying to get to Thailand in mid 2022
-
Hi Lads Anyone ever stay at Tints of Blue??? I made the reservation for mid June 2021, fingers crossed I can actually make it As I booked it with booking.com, as long as I cancel 24 hours before my arrival date, I don't lose out financially I'm paying $40 AUD per night which includes breakfast and its located on Soi 27

Bangkok Bar Closures During February 2019?
buddy616 replied to Tom Tit's topic in General discussion about Bangkok
I arrive in Thailand on March 18, so the election might have just taken place or just about too I don't drink, so Thailand being "dry" on election day, has no impact on me One trip I remember, I arrived on election day (year Yingluck was elected) headed over to Tulips and it was business as usual, You wouldn't have know there was an election on...- 15 replies
