  1. Yes, but the lines at Immigration are different from the ones at customs, right?
  2. Customs was stuck? Or do you mean Immigration/passport check? How long are the Immigration lines between 7-9 in the morning now anyway on arrival? And what about around noon on departure?
  3. Has anyone stayed at the Admiral Premier Bangkok on Soi 23 or The Key Bangkok on Soi 19 (both "by Compass Hospitality") recently? Both seem to be reasonably priced, and have a bathtub and a microwave in the room, but are they any good in general?
  4. I see you've gotten some feedback already, but I'll still chime in... The Pullman is definitely a nice hotel. I have stayed there a few times, and it's always been good. Nice bathtub, nice shower, decent size room, good service, etc.
  5. It's so guest friendly you wont't even have to look at the receptionist. The reception is on the 2nd floor, so you just bring your girl into the elevator on the 1st floor and go straight to your room. Also, I'd like to mention that if you throw in a few more baht, you will get a bathtub. The negative is that you only get 2 wifi slots. Probably not a problem for most, but some may have more devices (or multiple girls?).
  6. Yeah, that's the problem... Makes it useless to me in many cases. Too bad.
  7. Am I the only one whose Airbnb map doesn't show the right location for each place?
  8. Not quite the same procedure as the one offered by HE Clinic, though, right? HE Clinic seems to offer a far less "intrusive" approach. But of course, putting anything into your body with a needle could lead to complications.
  9. I never really noticed the restaurant when going to my room as it's separated from the elevator area with a doorway. But maybe I didn't pay close enough attention, I don't know.
  10. S Sukhumvit Suites has the reception on the 2nd floor, so you can just skip it. The restaurant on the 1st floor isn't that "intrusive", and if you return with a Special Lady in the middle of the night the place is closed anyway, isn't it?
  11. Won't the doctor make sure you don't inject too much, though? Seems weird if the doctor leaves it entirely up to the patient to decide. Now, I don't know if I trust a brand new account praising some service, but assuming that you are an actual customer, could you share your experience with the procedure? I mean, what was the effect, any pain/discomfort/side effects, etc. Anything you can share from a customer's perspective? Edit: By the way, is it true that the injections only helps flaccid size? That erect size is not affected? Kind of pointless if that is the case.
  12. I usually find Agoda and Expedia to be the cheapest. Whenever Hotels.com is the cheapest one (which is rare in my experience), Expedia seems to match it.
  13. I'm surprised no one has mentioned TripAdvisor. It gets the price from Agoda, Expedia, and a few other sites. However, you often get better rates by logging in, so TripAdvisor should really only be used as an indicator to see what the various sites are offering. Always make sure to log in or use the mobile apps from Agoda and others. Personally I find that Agoda is often the cheapest. After Agoda, Expedia seems to be the cheapest fairly frequently.
  14. S Sukhumvit Suites is guest friendly. Not that it matters since you can choose to skip the reception anyway
  15. Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely check it out.
  16. Thanks, so the safest way to do this is to simply apply for a Tourist Visa then. Will a Visa with a validity of 60 days allow me to travel freely into and out of Thailand within those 60 days? Or will the Visa only apply to one single in-out trip?
  17. So I'm in a situation where I might be able to go one week every month to Thailand as a tourist for a period of time. I know I can show up in Thailand and get 30 days without having to apply for a Visa. But can I do this as many times as I'd like? To clarify: I'm not talking about simply flying out of Thailand and back to renew. I'm talking about flying in for a week or so, then going back home for at least a couple of weeks before returning. I guess I would be away from Thailand for anything between 2-4 weeks between each visit. Will I have an unlimited number of 30-day Visa exempt entries to Thailand? Or would I at some point have to apply for a Tourist Visa? Theoretical scenario: I travel to Thailand the first week of every remaining month of the year. I go back home after a week and stay home for the rest of that month until the start of next month, when I go back to Thailand for a week.
  18. Your map shows the correct location of the Park Plaza I know about, at least. I was going to stay there last time I was in Bangkok, but they didn't have any rooms available for the whole stay.
  19. Oh well, I guess I'll need a shower and a change of clothes after the plane ride anyway... Just need to cover my stuff with plastic, I think!
  20. Songkran is quickly approaching. Never been there during that before. Are people basically splashing you wherever you go? So if I jump off the MRT to go to my hotel just across the street, I can expect myself and my baggage to be soaked no matter what? Or is the craziness mostly limited to areas where people typically gather, such as outside bars and such?
  21. I actually never got the chance to try out the gym. I notice there seems to be a lack of photos of the gym at the Clover online for some reason... It seems very few of these hotel have the bench press setup, though.
  22. I don’t have a lot to write about each of these and I won’t post any photos, so I thought I’d do a quick review in one single thread. I’ve stayed at all three in the last couple of months. All of them are close to the Sukhumvit MRT and Asoke BTS stations, and of course Terminal 21 and Soi Cowboy. Long story short, I’d recommend any of these. The exception is if I want a swimming pool, as Hotel Clover is the only hotel of the three with a swimming pool. I think I like Hotel Clover the most because of the swimming pool, and the food carts and 7-Eleven right next to it. But I was happy with all of them. All rooms were with a single large bed rather than twin beds. Wifi worked fine in all three hotels. Sukhumvit Suites Hotel (S Sukhumvit Suites) Sukhumvit Suites is just around the corner from Soi Cowboy. I stayed in a Deluxe Room, which was a rather large and comfortable room with an additional comfortable chair for relaxation. The bathroom was also nice, and had a bathtub rather than just a shower. I usually prefer a good shower, but I’d still go with this hotel again. Among other things, it has a button system for things like "Do Not Disturb", so no need to run around looking for the sign to put on the outside of the door. What’s interesting is that you need to take the elevator up to the 2nd floor to get to the reception. This means that you can simply skip the reception when returning to your room if you bring company. Some may like it that way. One issue I had is that you only get free wifi access for one device at a time, at least as far as I could tell. When the session expires you can connect a new device, so you can get free wifi for all your devices by juggling them a bit. Not exactly ideal, but nothing’s perfect :) CityPoint Hotel Asoke The CityPoint is across the street and a bit down the next street from the Asoke/Sukhumvut intersection. Since it’s a bit further from the action I guess it’s more quiet, although I never had a problem with noise in any of these hotels. I tried both the Standard and Deluxe rooms at the CityPoint. I would probably just go with the Standard room in the future, although the Deluxe room is a bit bigger, and offers more "toilet privacy". The bathroom in the Standard room is separated from the rest of the room with an opaque glass wall. Generally, the hotel seems fresh and clean, and has comfortable showers. But like most hotels, there water seems to vary between hot and cold every now and then. A tiny issue with CityPoint is the lack of a FamilyMart or 7-Eleven nearby. But you don’t have to walk far to find places to buy stuff so it’s really no big deal. Hotel Clover Asoke Hotel Clover is across the street from the CityPoint. Most nights it has street food carts right outside, in addition to a 7-11 next door, so you’ll never run out of things to stuff your face with. I stayed in the Standard Room. It’s not the biggest room in the world, but again, it’s comfortable and fresh. You also control things like "Do Not Disturb" with a button panel. Nice bathroom and comfortable shower. This hotel is the only one of the three with a pool. The pool is somewhat small, but you can easily swim a few strokes. There are few chairs, although I never had any problems with the pool area being crowded. There’s a bar by the pool as well. The view is pretty nice, with a glass wall being the only thing separating you from falling to your death (don’t worry, it’s pretty solid). Also, part of the pool only has a glass floor so that you can look down on the street below. One tiny negative is that there’s no regular fridge, just a tiny minibar. However, it does keep your drinks somewhat cold and you can fit a few bottles or boxes in there. No big deal.
  23. Apologies for the necropost, but I figured it was better to add to an existing topic than to create a new one just for this question: I keep reading in reviews that the water in the pool at the Tai-Pan is uncomfortably cold. Can anyone confirm? And in case anyone has stayed there recently, would you recommend it in general?
  24. I stayed at the Wellness Residence a few weeks ago. I don't know why, but I didn't really like the place. I had a Thai Superior room which was plenty big enough, and the price was nice. Still, I did not really like it. The bathroom was crappy, and the place looked worn. The atmosphere of the whole thing didn't appeal to me. I can't quite put my finger on it because it wasn't that bad if I try to look objectively at it. I was thinking about writing up a more complete review... Is it better to start new threads for new reviews, or do the mods prefer to keep reviews of each hotel in one thread for each of them?
