Personnally, I prefer to call the hotels myself. Usually the booking sites don't propose cheap hotels it is not interesting for them. And you never have guesthouses. I found a website that propose tousands of hotels adresses in Bangkok and in all Thailand ( it is in french but you can easlity understand how to search an accomodation and call it )
