  2. Hi, BNH would be my choice. Cheers, Mark
  3. Damn that looks fine. Wish I was in town to give it a go. Pastry looks nice and light and well cooked. Will have to see if they have an Aussie version i.e. one loaded with every-bloody-thing. ;) Cheers, Mark
  4. Kinda sad to see it go. It was a shithole but it had some sort of character. Cheers, Mark
  5. They are going to put a Hilton hotel there. Had an apartment in Habito just behind the restaurant that was great but had to move out due to the redevelopment. Cheers, Mark
  6. Agreed - they are good there. Used them for blood tests for work permit etc. Amazing how quickly they can test the blood and issue the certificate. Cheers, Mark
  7. Roads to Sukhumvit Soi 1 are open from the airport via normal route - tollway and exit at Ploenchit to Sukhumvit. If anything it is easier to get to Suk Soi 1 as there is very little traffic at all. Same for Soi 3 and Soi 4 - bugger all traffic. Cheers, Mark
  8. A court in Thailand has jailed two Iranian men for their roles in an attempted bomb plot in the capital, Bangkok, in February 2012. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-23781857 Cheers, Mark
  9. From what I understand Boots is very expensive. The pharmacy in Nana mentioned above is the one I use. Sure to have both Zpack and doxy. Cheers, Mark
  10. Some friends stay at Shama. Location is good - right on Soi 4. Might be a bit more than you want to pay though. http://www.shama.com/sukhumvit/index.aspx?gclid=CIS6rJa7-bYCFYx66wod0goA_Q Cheers, Mark
  11. I had it in for a little while but swapped it out for Heinken and Tiger draft - limited space for the kegs. Stowfords is a nice drop. Cheers, Mark
  12. Hanrahans Irish Pub on Suk Soi 4 has cider for sure mate. Cheers, Mark
  13. Take the skytrain to Saphin Taksin and then the ferry to Rajawongse (sp?). Walk up the road to Chinatown. Some very interesting back streets and great restaurants mate. Cheers, Mark
  14. The Dynasty group have very well located hotels mate. Close to Nana Plaza, Soi 4 beer bars and Insomnia. Choose from the Dynasty Inn, Grande Dynasty and Dawin all in Soi 4. http://www.dynastyinn.com/ Cheers, Mark
  15. A lot of the sights are along the river. I find the best ie. most relaxing way to get there is to take the BTS to Saphan Taksin and then the river ferry . Cheap as chips and quite enjoyable. Cheers, Mark

    visa info

I went in the afternoon the other day. About 2.30 pm. Really quick. Take a photocopy of main/front passport page, entry stamp and TMR (white) card. Also need a photo. There is a photo and copy shop down 1 floor if needed. You can get the application form off the website. Hardest part is getting the idiot taxi driver to get you there. There is a map on the website but that just confuses the clowns. Note they close between 12 - 1 pm. So 2 pm allows them to clear the backlog. Cheers, Mark
  17. Yes mate am in town and will be in the bar. Please stop on in.

And it seems you are not the only one having these problems btw.

    Cheers,

    Mark

  18. Dawin hotel has an all you can eat buffet luncj that is not too expensive. Cheers, Mark
  19. Why not stay uncircumsised - cos it's too late! :-( Cheers, Mark
  20. Hey Danny,

YOu haven't been on the board for a while. Hope everything is ok mate? Let me know how you are going.

    Cheers,

    Mark

  21. No sweat mate. I am currently being hounded by some sociopath on another forum about some bill from 2006. This bloke has a sheep loose in the top paddock I reckon. Fortunately people that know me come to the fore and help out. Cheers, Mark
  22. Glad you cleared that up. I have met you briefly a couple of times in your old Soi 8 bar (with Brownie, Leachie, Mick the Greek, Andy, etc) and the behaviour described above seemed most out of character. I read what was written above to Andy and he too was most puzzled. You big, bald, standover merchant. ;-) BTW Christmas lunch in No Idea was excellent. Now I know why - your chef is quite accomplished. I also know Peter, the guy that owns Stonefish Wines. A very nice bloke who will be most dissapointed to hear his wine is not drinkable. :-( Cheers , Mark
