Not a disco, but I love Hillary 2 in Soi 4 at night. Good bands, lots of FL's.

Am heading to Bangkok November and am looking for something in the area if the Majestic Grand is booked out. Not sure what to choose myself. I would also like to hear opinions.
I enjoyed staying at the Hotel Icon, same soi as Majestic Grande but a little further up. Newer hotel, nice rooms, decent rooftop pool at $ 20 less than the Grande.

It doesn't work that way. You can get 30 days when you enter the country and then can extend your time another thirty days. After that, you can either stay illegally or leave the county and come back. Here's the rules for visa applicants from the UK:

Also are there any websites like this one for Cambodia?
Check out Pattaya Addicts. There is a section on Cambodia which should answer many of your questions.

I recently wanted to change an Airbnb reservation I made a day before and discovered they have a policy where you can't cancel once you reach 30 days before the stay. I contacted my credit card company and cancelled the charge with no problem. They just asked if I knew there was a no cancellation policy, which I didn't. Don't know if doing this would hurt your credit, but it worked out for me. In fairness, afterward I contacted Airbnb and they did cancel the reservation.
I'll add hotels.com as a booking website where you can cancel up until the day before.

The BTS stations I have been to (Siam, Asok, Nana, Thon Lo) have an up escalator but not down.
Lifts are installed in some stations but I believe you need to see one of the guards to use them.
I used the elevators in the BTS stations when I had luggage without asking anyone. The only problem is at some stations they only go up one floor and sometimes you need to go up two.

I took Bell Travel Service. They pick you up at your hotel in a van and take you to their bus station where you transfer to a big bus for the trip to Pattaya. In Pattaya, you switch into a van and they drop you off at your hotel. Costs 370 baht a person. Might be easier if you have a lot of luggage.

I'm no expert on games, but I found this article on Bangkok game stores (it's from 2014, so it may be outdated):

There was also this Reddit on where to buy Nintendo Switch, which lists some stores:

Honestly, from what I read, and have experience elsewhere, I would try and scratch together the extra 1,500. There has to be a way...if not, you're on thin ice as it is, as that's not much money!
Considering this thread started in 2012, I really hope the OP found a way to come up with the money by now!
Transfer from Pattaya to Nana BTS Hotel & then Airport

When I took the Bell Bus from Bangkok's Soi 2 to Pattaya, a van picked me up at my hotel and took me to their bus station to get on a bigger bus for the trip. Then when we reached Pattaya, they had a van ready that took me to my hotel. For the trip back (I went from Pattaya to the BKK airport), a van picked me up at my Pattaya hotel, took me back to the bus station where I switched to a bus for the trip to the airport. The hotel pickups were included in the price.
Bus schedules are available on the Bell Bus website. I made a reservation before I even got to Thailand.
