  1. They list all the drug classifications somewhere in the site. For me this was required for post op pain meds, no longer a requirement now, but the classifications are there for you to look up.
  2. There's a Udon Thani thread on the PA forums http://www.pattaya-addicts.com/forum/topic/303610-udon-thani/ I'm following this as I had wanted to go there, but now not so sure.
  3. I'm an economist. I like to shop like any other happy consumer. I use the supermarkets to my advantage while in BKK as well as eating more street food as a first choice over say going to a restaurant. I like Big C, had a great time getting my groceries from there. With shopping it pays to look around, BKK is wonderful for that as there are more stores, which means more competition. Online is not always better and if it is then it's only slightly better. For example I went to Pantip in July and found all of their stuff only a few dollars in price difference to online retailers in my country. When you add postage the cost saving for an item bough in BKK made for a slight advantage. I would not buy PC parts that were not consumables. Also in my previous post I mentioned a few brand names. Branded clothes don't mean so much to me anymore. But I still shop around, keep my eye out. Another idea not mentioned is Tailoring. I enjoy tailored goods. The stuff I had made in BKK is good. I have a few nice shirts and pants for work.
  4. I seem to recall a TR on Koh Chang it sounded like it had promise.
  5. The Siam area is home to some mega malls. Malls in the size unlike anything I have seen in my home state. The shopping in BKK is easily comparable to Hong Kong, Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. I tend to feel that Bangkok offers a lot more range. Pricing is similar but there are bargains to be found for sure. These malls cater for what I would consider high end shopping as well as mid range branding. For example, Gaysorn mall is mostly high end shopping. Siam Paragon is again mostly high end. Though the department store has a variety of mid level range branding. Central World is mostly mid level brands. It's a good mix. MBK is where legit and counterfeit come together for some great bargain shopping fun. I prefer MBK over a market like Chatuchak because it's easier to navigate, air conditioning and it's right on the BTS. They have two food courts, Food island is very impressive. And did you know you can pay for your meal using a Rabbit card? Terminal 21 - I really don't know how to classify this mall. But I like their food court. *What do I mean by mid level range. Anything branded with a sigil or logo that most medium income earners can generally afford. I dunno, think of coveted branded items like - Ralph Lauren, Lacoste, Nike, but remember branding is on a tiered scale. The further up the food chain your polo shirts might come from CP or Paul & Shark. Your suits might come from Zegna or Brioni.
  6. I've stayed at Citrus 13 3 times now with a 4th stay booked for December, not a bad hotel, rooms are neat, compact, but pretty good for BM stuff, it's also not too far back on Soi 13, around about the same distance as the Ambassador on Soi 11 by distance comparasion. The breakfast isn't great but then it's usually included in the price. plus it has a pool which helps.
  7. wow, i actually was thinking of going there doing the low season next year, thanks for sharing your adventure
  8. I go to the food court at least once every holiday, I think the food court is the 5th floor, not the top floor, thats the cinema level

  14. I have only stayed on Soi's 11 and 13 across 4 visits to BKK, so my response is based on the food available there. On my first visit, at check-in, I was encouraged by the hotel staff to try the street food along Soi 11. They reassured me it was fine. So I went for it. And to date I have had no issues at all. I guess given the reliance on tourists in that particular area the food must be made to a certain standard to ensure no loss of revenue for the hoteliers as well as local businesses. As a result every chance I get I eat as the locals do. Watching a group of locals mass around a particular stall is a good sign.
  15. Heading to Vietnam and Cambodia this November.
  16. Stayed at Grand Swiss twice and stayed at Citrus 13 on Soi 13 going on 3 times now, same hotel group for both of these, very good price for what you get.
  17. I'm there in July as well. Yes I saw freelancers all around soi 6, there's one out the front of Boots chemist. And plenty of other opportunities down Am plaza, massage alley. Oh and Climax nightclub. FL's at Nana hotel soi 6, also Thermae on Suk.
  18. I didn't think Double One had a pool though, the OP mentioned a pool as a requirement
  19. I thought this was an urban myth but turns out it's real... Was having dinner with a BM and two Isaan gals on my last trip, watched these ladies scarf a plate of Isaan style stir fried vegetables with chili. Oh and did I mention chili? Me and my buddy took a bite each and I was like Fuck that!. These two broads finished the entire plate, afterwards even they have their heads down for count, panting, with serious mouth burn. Anyway, I must have forgotten about the dish, because later when she's giving me a BBBJ...man that shit burnt my knob end. :P :D It messed me up so much so that the next day I had trouble knocking one out with a masseuse, I got there eventually, but that shit just fucken hurt too much to enjoy. :o Beware the chili.
