  1. Some other Soi 11 scenes from yesterday, like shopping at Villa Market

When I was looking for a condo to rent, the first place I checked was Chaidee Mansion, at the 'T'.  I asked the guy how much for the rent on a 1-bedroom, he said 48,000.  "Isn't that a lot?", I asked.  "Utilities included", he said.

But nice views of the Soi from there

I've frequently stayed at Citichic down the road on Soi 13, a hotel I can highly recommend.

  4. nice pics. any suggestions on finding a good place to get a boat? Heard about bts at taksin but seems a bit expensive at 1500+ for 2-3 hours. Not interested in seeing all the tourist traps either.

I went with a group. The desel-powered long tail boats rent for 1200/hr and can accommodate 10-12 passengers. My cost was 500 baht for four hours, including lunch.

  5. Beautiful day today to be rolling down the river and up the creek for a tour of the Bangkok waterways.  Starting at Tha Chang pier on the Chao Phraya, near the Royal Palace, and stopping for a cold one at floating markets along the way.  Leave your automobiles and motorbikes behind, all Bangkok may be like this some day.

  6. Today featured Race Queens from Japan.  It was also Press Day, so I received free admission.  They asked for a business card, didn't have one, just told them I was covering the event for Bangkok-Addicts.com.  The Race Queens had an interpreter, one of them spoke excellent English, but I only saw about 4 farangs in attendence so I don't think it helped her much.
